Hi Raymond, can you give us an in-depth update on the brakes? How long they have been installed, any test compaison in terms of stopping distance. This is of great interest to me, as one area the CT lacks in, are good brakes. I remember that German company Mov-It, offered a kit. I spoke with the UK distribution, they advised they knew of no one who had fitted the kit. I was not prepared to splash the cash without a reference point.
Be very interested in more detail.
    Cheers
    Rob

Thanks for the link Joe, very useful. Seems to have some rare parts. I had a look for a paint sticker on my car. Alas, nothing. With regards to your picture of a young lady laying out on the wing. Is this not reason enough to ensure your CT has a wing? Just in case sun lounger space is hard to find at the beach . . .

My PPG sticker is located on the underside of the trunk. Passenger side, the corner furthest from the cockpit.

I've currently got two '87 Countach QV at my place, mine (red/magnolia with red piping) and a friend's highly original QV (red/black). As far as I can tell, neither have a PPG paint sticker anywhere I can see..

Here is another image of it in more recent times.

I have no idea what the official color is called, but it was clearly specially ordered.

Thank you for conforming, Ive seen this on a number of cars, but I suspect as with much sticker application by the works at the time, not every car received them.

That's my received wisdom, I have someone in HK who will help me confirm the story.

Sacrilege (IMVHO) that the color was changed, I understand this happened in the early days whilst the car was still in Australia.

That is news to me! I recall Georges mentioning they redid the tips in 2001 but I also recall he mentioned it to be an Ansa. I'll ping him to get more info on this since he is likely the one who mounted it.
    Exhaust sounds awsome..

    Awesome images Harry.

You are right, the car sounds amazing at WOT with a sport exhaust on, but the Countach's Achilles Heel is the brake system.

Here below is Paul Dennis' son running out of brakes at the track

Speaking of special-order colors, at the 2015 Marco Turci Memorial Historic Motor Festival in Mirandola, Italy this Countach Downdraft (you can see the power dome through the glass) showed up along with the lovely rose metallic Miura P400S brought by Valentino Balboni.

Its actually Italy-registered DP.607.SE (Novara region?) and is known to me as a special-order car built for a member of a Royal Family in the Middle East.

French Blue with white leather interior.

Here is a car with the original Ansa F1 sport exhaust made in mild steel, note the configuration of the tubes & tips.

Thanks for clarifying that, I had read that after a few laps the brakes were not what they once were, just as happened to me at Goodwood once.

Raymond's solution of AP 4-piston race calipers with Ferodo DS2500 pads is the best solution Ive personally encountered.

I know the person which founded the Ansa Claasic collection. He is convinced that with today's unleaded fuel, which is significantly different than the leaded fuel of 25+ years ago, the new tips are more appropriate. He is convinced that the holes in the inner tubes would clog up over time.

I remember Robb Capp, here is 12038 with its 185EXY registration, Robb Capp standing behind the car with his spouse, perhaps this image is yours also. As I recall the car had the big wing at the time he owned it.

He previously had this registration on a white LP500S.

Thanks for confirming the chassis number!
