I forgot to mention: since I saw this car when new, I now know the gold-plated badges are not original.

    Correct, it's FLA12808.
It's amazing how long it was for sale for a very reasonable price but nobody wanted here, there was even the special plate on the dashboard which proofed the original first owner.
Love the clear design without the ridiculous fog lamp.

The broker involved in the sale of Rosberg's car was turbo- car-trade in Switzerland at some point.

Correct, but not only, it was advertised by different companies. Turbo Car Trade was simply a broker which tried to sell cars which were also advertised by official dealers.

Car Classic offered it to me in May 2007.

Said to have one of the tuned 470 bhp engines, their Ad piece said:

"Chassis #FLA12808, supplied new to ex F1 World Champion Keke Rosberg. The car is finished in white with white leather to the interior. It is superbly sorted throughout and comes with all original books and tools. It still carries the one owner title from Rosberg. The car is freshly serviced and needs absolutely nothing. It show precisely 9,171 km on the clock and was never crashed nor molested. It was specially tuned up by the factory only for its celebrity owner. The car is very quick and was taken on the highway by Rosberg up to 290 km/h (back in the 90s)!"

Raymond here is a French-registered Downdraft with not one but two rear fog-lamps!

I wonder if rear fog lamps were a requirement in all European countries?

They were first an option (around 1986), later they became mandatory (f.e. Germany from 1991 on).

    Love this new thread Joe.
I remember when this car was offered too.
Was the dash plaque fitted at the factory?
Or more likely by Achilli Motors?

    Thank you.

This plaque is almost certainly the work of the dealer Achilli Motors.

Slight diversion, I learned that Achilli Motors was one of the biggest Lamborghini Concessionaires in the mid-to-late 80s and as such likely delivered more Countach Downdrafts than any other dealer. The were also prolifically involved in World Class 1 Offshore racing and influenced Lamborghini to follow suit

On another section there is a discussion about Lewis Hamilton driving for Mercedes yet personally buying a Ferrari (LF). I made the point that F1 teams don;t care what their drivers do with their money so long as they win! In the 80s Ferrari F1 driver Gerhard Berger was known for his Countach Downdraft and later his 25th Anniversario

May 1985, so Keke got one of the first Downdraft Countachs. Interestingly, in July of that same year, he also picked up a Ferrari 288 GTO on EE plates (EE.085.AK), a car that belongs to a client of mine. If anyone knows where the Rosberg DD is today, please let me know.

    Thank you Robert!

Ive been trying to find about this one for years. Here is a set of images of it cruising in the same area in London, except these ones are from almost 10 years earlier. Ive actually spotted it once whilst in that area of London, I heard an unmistakably deep rumble, turned round and it was going by.

Here is Paul Dennis whose Downdraft has 104,000 km on the clock! Another car I remember from new when Steve Foster owned it, then Vic Sawyer.
