Camlet1, I feel your pain! I can't decide on exterior color with conviction. I too like TDF blue and I also like Grigio Ferro Metallic and now Rosso Maranello is entering my mind. I also can't pick with certainty which, if any livery I may or mat not elect to use. I do know I using a charcoal grey interior with a contrasting stitch color depending on the exterior color selection.
I must say that "our" problem is a VERY GOOD problem and I hope you find your way with your decision. To assist me a bit in the process I've gone thru the F12 Picture Thread to see actual colors on the car and that has helped me a little bit. Good luck!

    stating the obvious perhaps....

Anyone lucky enough to get a slot at a new TDF will have exactly ONE shot at getting it exactly how you want it.

Would you buy a USD $400K condo based on pictures or computer renderings?

Having now been to the Atelier and having had the chance to see the car a few times, and also in different colors, you should make the time and spend the $ to go spec in person.

The pics are great, but the TDF is a multiple of the different 3D dimensions of the F12, it looks very different in person (the presence of the car is astonishing) and different colors, and color types (eg. metallic, 3-layer) all have exaggerated effects. Additionally, IMHO the amount of carbon and (dark) vents need to be factored in. To us, the contrast of the carbon pieces and the front/rear bodywork were something to build on (which the F12 didn't have)

If you were getting a 488 or FF or F12, worst case you can might be able to order another one....with the TDF, you won't.

Like I said, we're very lucky and we're unlikely to forget it

That's what I thought but there seems to be a metallic element to it which I didn't think you could get with Pozzi.TdF in an odd light ?

Could be but again didn't think this was one of the metallic colours.

Romo why don't you do Rosso Fuoco like the GTO you have for sale? I think that this color would really make the lines of the car pop and also have good contrast with the carbon fiber.

I do like Rosso Fuoco very much BUT I've seen Rosso Maranello quite a bit recently and really like that color as well. But at the same time, I've always wanted a Tour de France Blue Ferrari and especially one which I will keep as long as I'm above ground. The TDF blue with all the carbon fiber contrast will look exceptional to me.

What are your thought on the TDF blue with a Grigio Ferro Metallic Livery Stripe..?

We have a 2 TDF blue cars. Its a gorgeous color and I think that a Grigio Ferro Metallic stripe would set it off. Have you done this yet on the Configurator?

I forgot to add that I would also have a thinner Nero Daytona Livery Stripe next to the Grigio Ferro Strip which ties in the black vents/tires. The Grigio Ferro Metallic Livery Stripe would make the Charcoal Grey Alcantara interior work well with contrast blue stitching and piping in selected areas. The more I write about this spec the more I see it in my mind and the more I like it. I think the clarity issue is now getting resolved.
    I LOVE FCHAT! :)

My dealership doesn't have the software for the tdf so I've been working with them using the F12 and Speciale as guidelines.

    Just do it.
I think this car looks best in TdF/Pozzi.Some contrast with carbon but in a subtle way.Just seems to tie in with the historical links as well.

Lol. I've been cruising thru the 599 GTO and 458 SA threads too! Too much choice, more headache, strangely addictive. My wife who is very use to the car stuff now thinks I've completely lost the plot.

Camlet for what its worth, I say go for it. Make it an expression of you and how you want it. Gee, this is fun when someone else is writing the check! PS- they can always do a paint to match for you... make up your own color! How about Blu Camlet? Or Rosso Camlet... :)

Quite like the look of Aston's Hammerhead Silver? Looks very smooth on the Vanquish.

I don't see metallic there. IMO it could very well be Pozzi, direct sunlight brightening it up a bit.

It does seem you can go 2 ways with the TDF, the more subtle, almost GT look , even to black that makes it a stealth monster, or the vibrant red and yellow that contrast so well the carbon (also white, light silver/grey) . Going to be an interesting 2016 when all the photos start arriving. I doubt you could go very wrong with any colour on this car to be honest. Also think it will startle a few people when they actually see one on the road. It has monster written all over it. Build specs are starting to be loaded into the system, so decisions are now being made.

I concur with your overall assessment in that you really can't go wrong given the lines of the car and the amount of visible exterior carbon fiber. the key is getting the interior to properly align depending on the exterior color choice.
