Will be interesting to see what they go for... I enjoy watching live from the Mecum website. 1999 550 https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-236314/0/1999-Ferrari-550-Maranello-Coupe/6-Speed/ 2001 550 Barchetta https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-235172/0/2001-Ferrari-F550-Barchetta/ 2002 575M F1 https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-233606/0/2002-Ferrari-575-Maranello-GT/Automatic/
Another Argento 2003 575M F1 going under the hammer tomorrow in the UK. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/2003-ferrari-575-f1
was just bought a couple weeks ago: 1999 Ferrari 550 Maranello Serial Number 114367 - main page now at mecum: https://www.mecum.com/lot-detail/AN1115-236314/0/1999-Ferrari-550-Maranello-Coupe/6-Speed/
If 114367 goes for significantly more under the hammer than the $129K that was being asked a couple of weeks ago I bet the previous owner that sold through Sheehan won't be very happy!
It appears to be a very nice car and well priced through Sheehan. A complete, well maintained car in desirable colors like this could easily go well past $150...or not... Will be interesting to watch!
I will be surprised if any of them brings decent money at a Mecum auction. Mecum usually only draws buyers for muscle cars and pickup trucks. I watched the Mecum auction last night (Friday) and their were very few people in the seats and they didn't run but very few Ferraris, Aston Martins, Bentleys, Rolls Royce's or Porsches until after 10 PM pacific time, nearly everything before that was Mustangs, Cameros, a few Mopars and pickup trucks. Two Ferrari 430's "one coupe and one spyder" brought just over $100,000 and a very nice looking 348 only brought $37,500. I don't remember the exact prices but this was the price range.
Mecum sold a three pedal 575M for $385K at Monterrey, so good prices for these Maranellos would not be a surprise.
from looking at mecums website and online streaming video it looks like no one is bidding on MANY of the cars. very few of the saturday cars are selling.. strange...
Like someone else said, lots of empty seats, and low bidding activity....... Slowdown in the car price/buy craze ? Even though they do not have many exotics, seems a big slowdown on toy buying....
The ex-New Zealand RHD 2003 Argento 575M F1 sold for £70,313 incl. (£62,500 hammer) in the UK yesterday. https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/2003-ferrari-575-f1 Might have made more if is was ' all black' !
You have to wonder if bidders were already aware that the 550 was sold recently with an asking price of $129K. The $130K bid would have been $143K with fees. Doesn't seem too bad a bid for a 22K mile example considering these circumstances.
