Also has the massing for 113 E Roosevelt Road and the other twin tower on the left. Farther south than Sears so it will extend the bookend look from the west. I guess Chicago will try the catch up to NYC on construction site cranes in the next few years.

    Nice design for Jahn's hometown.

    That's terrible.

The erector set above the base... no pupose. Visually stinks. Looks unstable.

    It is different..

Here is a photo I found on the internet of Chicago in 2020, with most but not all the proposed supertall's in the photo. NYC really took off in the last three years with some great new 900ft+ buildings under construction, so now Chicago will try it's best to almost catch up on 900ft+ buildings. Should be fun to watch.

Chicago Sears Tower still has the highest top floor in N.A.

Architecturally dull aren't they. Not particularly tall. Not particularly interesting. Just lots of big rectangular boxes.

A lot of boxes, that's for sure, mixed in with some nice designs. Value engineering. What do you consider tall?? A few of the buildings in the above picture are 1300-1500 foot tall. The Sears Tower is almost 1500ft to the roof, not including the antennas. Higher than anything in Europe by far at this point and the highest top floor in North America.

113 E Roosevelt Road has been approved by the planning commission. Funding is in place according to the developer and is set to start construction in June.

River South is also off to a start with CMK and Lend Lease doing the development. Was approved this week also.

Although I like the fact that it is not a box that building is really ugly although interesting and does not fit in with the rest of the buildings very well. Looks like a snake with it's head cut off. Feel free to start a new thread with modern and interesting buildings not in Chicago.

More photos of Grant Park Tower (113 E Roosevelt) | 887 FT | 78 FLOORS...Yes another tall box!!
