exactly. he does have an imdb page but i guess anyone living in la who have a video camcorder can be considered a hollywood film maker. and i guess a guy like me in his early 30s must be too old to be on the other side of the generation gap

Is all the speculation necessary? The guy is more open than most about how he makes his money.

peeps can be so quick to judge, assume things. this side of things (how he affords the toys) never came to mind...i never cared, i just enjoy his videos. most of them are quite funny, candid, like the one where he teaches his lady friend to drive 'stick'...in his RS 4.0 no less :)

LOL, if you can classify Hyper 5 as a project on IMDB, then I guess companies like Petrolicious and eGarage have tons of crap they needed to update on their IMDB as well. I also love it when people get credit as "executive producers" which is translation for either as "I didn't do any work but I have special relationships" or "I'm super rich"

So I'm assuming on a good surface in warmer weather these cars could knock a half second off their 0-60 time, a full second off their 0-150 time, and maybe 2-3 seconds off their 0-186 time. Porsche and Mclaren seem close to factory claims making those assumptions. Ferrari was way off...

Also, it really is crazy how much Porsche stops decelerating after 150. I wonder if they'll ever be able to upgrade the car to stop the front motor from decoupling.

Next week's Hyper 5 video is on a much better surface with better weather so that should be interesting to compare.

Why did they choose "only gay in the village" from Little Britain to do the voice over?

    To improve their credibility?

Video lacks credibility when the 918 is beaten off the line by the P1. Every stat, every other drag race I've seen, etc, suggests that 918 should have been ahead for the first few seconds and then the P1 claw its way back. Even more so if surface is sub optimal.

Oh brother...if you watch the start(4.50 min. mark in the video), the LaF jumps the start followed by the P1...the 918 driver looks to be asleep at the wheel, literally. Why didn't they do a restart?

Did they put McLaren's test driver in the LaF this time round by any chance?

They did 7 different races and took the best time of each car. Says it in the video. The race you see may not be that cars best time.

Yeah, I missed that commentary when I watched the video the first time.

It must have been really cold(or something else is really wrong) because those times are NOT very good, especially the LaF's time.

Once again the P1 used Trofeo R's.
Mr. Paul Bailey, I'm gonna lend you a pair of Corsas.

All these tests don't mean anything.

Well, some people are saying the P1 is going to use Trofeos, so the comparison will be invalid.

Can we start to discuss whether mclaren and Ferrari used ringer vehicles for magazine testing. I know it's been brought up before but the evidence is mounting. Porsche seems to be the only one that, in independent tests (i.e. No factory involvement) posts acceleration figures on par with magazines. Remember, the Ferrari and mclaren both did 0-100 mph in 4.7 seconds(!!) in the mags. I see them a half second off this pace in reality.

The weather looked cold and the surface not perfect. Possibly even an incline. Being with .5s of the 0-100 time is pretty accurate if you ask me.
