599 GTO Official Picture Thread!!!!

Tell you what....When you want to use one of my quotes I would appreciate if you used all of it instead of taking what I'm saying completely out of context. Have you ever owned or driven a GTO? I both own one and track it. FYI I am also on the list for a TDF. Two totally different cars. But if the factory thought it was as significant a Ferrari as the 599 GTO they would have badged it a F12 GTO and they didn't.

 

My local dealer and FNA don't know I exist as the GTO is only my 2nd F car. Purchased 458 new and then traded in 458 to acquire GTO. I don't think anybody in US getting a TDF allocation unless they are well known buyers to their dealers (meaning they've purchased a lot more than 2 cars from them). What's the magic number ? 5 F cars ? Who really knows. All I do know is I don't rate highly enough in their minds to deserve an allocation. I get it but that doesn't mean I have to like it. If anybody knows how I can get an allocation of a US spec car at MSRP .... haha I won't hold my breath on that one.

 

When I spoke to a fairly well known Ferrari test driver in March 2015, he was adamant then what we now know as the TDF would not be called GTO. I really don't know what people gain from saying "oh the TDF was going to be called GTO".

Experienced a 599 GTO yesterday virtually back to back with its illustrious sister the 365 GTB/4 Daytona...will try get photo's of both of them together.

 

More pearls. Read all the posts in real time on this for the last year so know how it all went down. You can breath easy now. My opinion is the name or the quantity is totally insignificant - the car; however, is anything but. Good luck with your new F12. I'm sure it won't be "in the same league" as your 599.

 

Jacques, I anticipate that the TDF will be a remarkable car and look forward to some of Europe's first owners drive comparisons especially from those who happen to own both a GTO and TDF. But indeed different cars from different times.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts regarding the feel and drivability of the 365 GTB/4 vs. the GTO. While any pic's of the two "sisters" together or in action would indeed be icing on the cake for many here.

That's kind of cool, do you have any more pics? Would be interesting to see how the yellow winglets look from different angles.

The blue/yellow Tokyo GTO has the full track pack or just the rear winglets ? Any other photos of this "winged" GTO ? The track pack definitely gives the GTO more of an XX appearance, probably more so in a darker non-stripe GTO. A track pack on an all black GTO with maximum exposed carbon goodies would provide the closest "XX look" for the street (IMHO). I also find it a bit crazy that there there are track packs on GTO's outside the US that probably never saw and never will see a track (other than from a parking lot paddock). Normally I'd blame overly restrictive US regulators for screwing up a car's look (ie. the orange side markers) but in the case of the track pack its that factory itself that prohibits the track pack for non-track use. Bottom line is that if you want the track pack you can get it whether you track your GTO or not. Not to digress, any other exterior pics of this blue/yellow GTO ?

Interesting how the little touches make such a difference with the black fuel cap on the top one and the black shields on the bottom one. Are either factory options?

Some nice pics in there. Rear spoiler mixed with the winglets kind of kills the lines of the gto but certainly unique.

I love the non white mirrors as it really accentuates the stripe

 

On mine, Ferrari refused to let the GTO leave the factory with carbon shields. They said I could do what I liked when the car was delivered.

Thanks for the full photos. Candidly I love the track pack GTO both with and without the wings. The track pack definitely makes the GTO lines more muscular although sans wings those lines appear a bit more classical and conservative.

MoeD this era of will be the last of the Naturally aspirated V12's Ferrari's and also the last of the Luca DeMontezela era which some people are weighting more heavily.
