Robert, I think this is the one.

Also, the parts diagram points to TAV 38 with the part number 106958, which is the spark plug extension as you can see in the following captures (item 36 in TAV 38).

Anyone has the pre-1977 308 GTB/GTS parts catalogue to see if it's also included? Now we know the pocket we assumed for window crank is actually this piece :)

Variation in second half of the 1980s' pliers:

Note that the one at the top:
    - has a rectangular cut-out in the beak for the cutting blades, the other one has a round one.
    - has a brand printed in the metal of its circular pivot, the other does not;
    - has a white "Ferrari" script on one handle and "Kravm" on the other one; the second pliers has a white "Ferrari" script on both handles.

Differences in the finish of the Kravm wrenches:
    (QVs and 328 tool rolls)
The 20/22 wrench is used for example, both on the "Chrom Vanadium Kravm" side.
The one at the top is the "shiny chrom type", the one at the bottom is the "dull chrom type".
(Remember that there are "dull chrom type" wrenches with "Chrom Vanadium Kravm" on BOTH sides, and others with the standard "Chrom Vanadium Kravm" one side, "Ferrari" on the other).

As other have said, many thanks for your effort and this informative thread. I was once told my tool kit was not genuine, but after comparing it with the pictures provided, I am very confident I have the correct tools and pouch for 55057, 1985 Euro spec QV.

I may be missing the emergency window crank (haven't finished looking everywhere it could be) but appear to have an extra plug wrench if anyone is interested in a trade.

Utema can be found as a complete set including the 14/14mm combination wrench or as individual wrench appearing in a kit, although this is subject to debate it has been seen a few times already and you would think if people are going to "fill the hole" why not the same type as others?

    Nice work Piezo!!

So I was going through my 83' QV tool roll and I found that the larger 4 wrenches are poly tools, and the smaller 4 wrenches are the Utema's? Anyone seen that before? Doesn't seem out of the realm of possibilities, but it's a little odd. The wrenches from each group match each other in finish, so it is not a complete hodge podge. Thanks!

Barry, this one posted by Jeff should be the cylindrical headed wrench you meant?

    This thread is "BigTex Approved"....
    :D :D :D

I think #9 is the Champion Spark Plug inductive spark indicator!

It looks about the right size and shape, of those sold on here a few months ago!

Thank you BigTex for the approval :D! And of course nerofer for the addendum to what I have missed out particularly the late QV screwdrivers and pliers. I'm more familiar with the Polytools era as my car is an early QV. BigTex has too many early carb car tool kits in his garage and nerofer knows all about the late QV to 328 era. So everyone knows who to ask :p

On a side note about that #9, I have asked Alberto and confirmed the translate is Spark Plug Extension Removing Spanner, according to his "limited English ability". Inside pic of that tool:

Again, this piece shows up in the pre-77 spare parts catalogue for GT4, but I don't have access to the parts catalogue for carb 308 of the same era to confirm if it's also included. Anyone has a copy to share the info? Tool kit is in TAV #42 usually.

    Hi piezo,
this part #9 doesn't exist anymore in the 308 spare parts catalog, neither in the wiring diagram nor in the tool kit table.
Here are copies of the tables included in the first 308 catalog (12 75), unchanged in the 09 76 issue.

Thank you Paul for the clear up and the diagrams!

So, that piece is just for pre-1977 GT4s.

I guess that completes the circle.

Those early cars seem to have a totally different plug extender, which I have never seen, maybe you needed it to get them out. I just have the regular ones that you pull out!

Of course not all of them. Some pictures were pulled from the Internet just for illustration purposes, in particular the very early ones and very late ones. Others are mostly in my possession, about 6-70% of the pictures :D

I went through my tool roll again, and realized that I do fall into this category. I have all Utema 1000 except for the 14/14mm combination wrench. Car is an 83' QV USA spec.

Thanks again for putting this together Steve!

Well, I have a rather large repair bill, so my stock of tool rolls is going to thin!

Before they go, here are some details:

The early set with Everest wrenches, had a matching set of amber screwdrivers, ALL with flat handles!

By the time of the later, Polytools set (still early carbed cars), note that the odd rounded handled one, had snuck in to the bag!!

In my eyes it looks like a reproduction , CNC-produced.

Probably a reproduction, but I doubt, that it's CNC-produced. Too many production steps. I assume, it's a reproduction of good ol' manual lathe and mill style.

    Best Regards
    Martin

I think you misunderstood the eBay listing on this spark plug socket. It says "21mm inside, for 14mm wrench. "

I think they meant to say that it fits a 21mm spark plug, and is driven by the 14mm combination wrench in the toolkit.

Those spark plug wrench for 308s (14mm plugs) are with 21mm inner measurement.
