Fair condition 78 & 79 930 turbos in the low $40's, I'd like a green & blue, arena red too.

This car was rough, paint looked scruffy, seats from a 1985-89 911. I think the market is still strong. Incorrect cars will not bring six figures. And yes we will see some softening. These cars have been on fire for some time. We will see a increase of selling prices over the long run.

Nice cars will bring big money. This was not a nice car.

$94,000 was good money for this car.

I completely agree. I did not see much more than a used car when I saw it. Neat color but that about covered it.

This '78 was at Denver, CO before it went to Mecum and it did have a repaint but they were not sure if it was originally PTS.

Seems 1970s 930s didn't survive in the numbers that the later cars did. It's just a estimation but probably around 40 % of 78/79 930s are not on the road today.

This is just a observation of the number of cars for sale verses the later years. I'd almost bet that around 600 78 930s remain and around 720 79s remain.

I believe attrition rates may be a lot higher than the average of 30 % for all classic Porsche's.

Nice example of an early RoW 3.3 930! I like the soft look of the silver anodized Fuchs on your car. Reminds me of the earlier (although shorter/wider) Fuchs on the RSR variants.

    Thanks 930.
Took the orginals off and fitted these 7/9s for a different look.

Interesting, but seemingly well worn for 46K, '78 RHD RoW 930 variant with a US 150 MPH Speedometer(?).

Interesting that it still has (or a version of?) the "red dot" on the brake pedal that the early servo boost cars were delivered with. Was this required to remain on GB 930's as 1978, unlike NA cars, was the first MY for power brakes?

Yes #258 '79 light yellow was for-sale on the PCA classifieds out the central coast of California a few years ago by the original (maybe second) owner. Agreed, wonderful car except for those aftermarket red stripes, I too was dissuaded by that. Not really my taste but I guess that was popular in the period. Sad to see it shuffled from one high priced dealer to another..Looking forward to seeing your light yellow turbo Carrera Phil..

Looks like they corrected the speedo. When for sale earlier it had a incorrect 180 speedo now it has the correct 150.

Speaking of light yellow, here is my still with excellent original paint 43K mile 79 930 light yellow with the paint code of #173 and Color to sample stated on the window sticker with the additional cost of $775. Also came with the pin striped cloth interior. Anyone know what #173 color is? Previous owner said "fly yellow " If he is right, may be appropriate place to ask since this is Ferrari Chat.

Sloans ad for the yellow 79 930 VIN #278 says not original paint, with 14K miles? Wonder what the problem was to need paint work as previously Top Gear's ad says all original paint. Removal of the pinstripes?

Top Gear's add was incorrect. My inspector had uncovered signs of repaint during the PPI. It wasn't a total repaint, but it wasn't all original either. From what I recall it was mostly to clean up the front end and one of the fenders.

There is a picture of that car in the 1979 930 registry and it states 'Paint to Sample Ferrari Fly Yellow'. It looks more like Talbot Yellow to me.
