I won't be dumping mine...ever. Not the least bit interested in a turbo Ferrari. F12 or bust for my 458 stablemate.

I think the 488 will depreciate more than 458. And many 488 will smoke the 488 Speciale later in a straight race.

The mayor is right too many people just bought them for the sake of buying and not really enthusiast. Just bought them to flip them without actually putting miles. If Ferrari really wanted they could ban these type of buyers and that would sort of help the used car market in a positive way. And the list for an allocation would not be as huge as its now. I bet more than half on the list are "flippers".

I knew that would come up. That car is the exception. My dealer has one for sale for 1.5 mill. Out of my league.

    Different turbo for different times: invariably, and naively, compared to the 488 series cars;
I for one am a big fan of the 288 gto, also a twin turbo.

Was in a 488, just felt like another fast car with adequate sound as is the Nissan GTR, Porsche Turbo S or Mclaren 650S:
forgot about it after 5 minutes.

Fwiw my Italia still utterly awes me every time I take her out, granted I have made a few mods to assure repeated memorability
    of experience :)

True. The F40 is so wanted NOT because of the turbo, but more because it's the Ferrari's once every 10 years model, even if they make one with V6 nowadays, people will still line-up to get one. But 488 is the Ferrari that everybody-can-get-one, just like the Cali T. Let's hope it doesn't end up like the Cali T.

If I get a 488 Spider I'd very likely keep my 458 too...the visceral sound is addictive. See you soon with our circle of Tifosi!

Yesterday i drove my 488. Just felt very very excited. Pure adrenaline. Unleashes passions. The sound in Race is simply intoxicating. Have you tried to put the Manettino in Race ?

I have owned the 458 Itala. But it is another story.
INMO, the 488 become outdated the 458.

Too many 458 was build? At 360 era there was no Lambo competitor, 430 have not Mclaren competitor, nowadays market is very crowded, 488 will need to compete with hybrid nsx

I agree that this is what is going on. Ferrari only give new cars to recent buyers. They don't seem to check on the time they hold them or number of cars they still own. I hear it from new owners all the time. Keep the cars a short while and sell while they are still hot. This does nothing for the long term brand.

Putting the manettino in Race doesn't change the sound of the car.. the flaps open at a lower RPM but the sound of the car above 3,000 RPM is exactly the same in all settings.

So does the 488 get into 7th gear in auto-race at like 2 mph (lol) just like the 458, or did they change that on 488?

If anyone is thinking that Ferrari built a lot of 458 s , with the company now public , just wait and see how many 488 s will be manufactured.

I bought my very first Ferrari a 1997 F355 out of dealer inventory with ZERO wait days and with a discount.
My prediction those days will come back after the launch of the 960.Why the 960 because Porsche is
specifically going after eclipsing Ferrari in performance and experience parameters and when the press confirms the
NEW KING then discounts will come on 488 or its successor. I truly hope is does not happen but got a feeling it will

My guess would be some of the production increase would come from current hot selling
models like the 488 and F12 successor and the rest will come from the new DINO :)
