Due to unfortunate circumstances I have been unable to drive my 348 for several months. Now that I have to move it I noticed that the clutch pedal was very low to the floor. Gear engagement was very sudden so I shut the car down. I checked the clutch/brake reservoir and it was full. Is there a leak in the system somewhere and is it safe to drive (just to a mechanic)? Any ideas what might be wrong? Besides a small leak in the passenger side valve cover I also notice moderate a leak under the clutch under the rectangular screen and another leak under the car corresponding to the front edge of the passenger door. Thanks.

Sounds like your clutch master cylinder gave up the ghost. What happens if you pump it quickly a couple of times?

Hi Bruce, I finally did get to the house and tried pumping up the clutch and I got the full pedal back. I subsequently went back several days later and the pedal felt mostly normal. What does this indicate?
    Thanks for you help,
    John
