One thing that has always surprised me is that Ferrari never issued a service record book with the Dino when new. Apart from the two coupons in the Warranty booklet there was no way to keep an official stamped history record with the car other than keeping any service invoices in a folder.

For a bit of fun I decided to make up a Service record book in a similar style to the original warranty booklet and early dealer directories so that I could create a history for my cars for the next period of their lives post restoration. I could have just bought a modern Ferrari service history book but it didn't seem appropriate for a Dino.

I wondered if anybody else has done something similar?

    Iain,
Very cool indeed! Is this something you'd consider producing and selling? I'm sure there'd be numerous interested FChatters, myself included.

This is a very nice touch and idea.

It would be interesting to have it a car being Classiched and see how they react to it.

    Something like this Ron? ;)

I'm grateful for the positive comments. To be honest I only did the booklet for fun for my cars and didn't have any intention of making more. I made one for TonyL after all the fantastic help he has given me so will have to let him be the judge on the finished result.

PS If you are willing and able, can you leave the dealer stamp blank, or do you have to include it?

Well I must say I got mine this morning and it is very well made and a nice touch for the service records. Very well done.

    Thanks ISUK.

Thanks Tony. I really didn't set out to make these for anyone else but I'm a bit happier making a few more now that I have your approval on the end result. At present I can probably only make around 6 copies or so as I don't have a lot of the linen card left to make the cover from and would have to track down some more.

If anyone who has expressed an interest wants to drop me a PM I will supply them on a first come first served basis. Please indicate if you want the model designation included on the opening page along with chassis number and provide both of these if you do. I can leave the Importer section blank so you can fill this in yourself or can include the relevant info if you provide what you'd like there.

Ron, yours is already made if you want it ;)

pictured is the service book that came with my 73 - dealer could check off all work done for a particular service interval ,should be in the wallet - maybe this was only USA cars ?

The red cover booklet was US market specific only from 1973.

I have responded to the PM's I've received and it looks like the booklets I am able to produce with the materials I have are now spoken for. If I can source more card to do a few more I will update the thread.

Received mine and very impressive. The only flaw is that the 2 staples didn't come pre-rusted!

I wonder if a concours judge would pick up on it, never having seen one before...

I'm glad you're pleased with it Ron. I tried to find some old Italian staples made from low quality Russian steel to add to the authentic look but sadly came up blank :D

As I live on an island in the Pacific and because of mail congestion during the holidays, it took a bit longer for my booklet to arrive. I have just discovered it in my overflowing in-tray. IT IS FANTASTIC. I am so happy with it, lain. Great job! Many thanks,

    Andres
