Anybody know if these were the same bore/stroke as the 208 GT4?

Great work on this car-I just read this whole thing. these threads are the best. I'd love to get the feel of one of these on acceleration but sounds like I'd have a better shot at driving a 288 bc of rarity. I guess I'd settle for the 288 though!

    Great work on this car

Thanks. Same bore and stroke than the 208 GT4: same engine too, but the GT4 is just NA and carbed, while the 208 GTB turbo is turbocharged and has the Bosch K-Jetronic Fuel injection.

    Ciao

I figured that-why mess with something that works. These are great engines. Funny enough, the 308 gt4 (and the 208 gt4) have gone up enough in value these days where bolting on a turbo isn't real smart-but to be honest I've had mine long enough (308) to admit it did cross my mind in the past! Either way, all the v8's are going to be turbo now-it's pretty cool you got the first in line

By the way-I really dig the silver inserts in the seats-I need an fcar this color combo!

    Hi Alberto,

    Car looks fantastic!!

Any chance you know where the all the new tubing came from or can ask your mechanic? I am having a hard time sourcing new oil vapor lines, the ones that go from valve cover to valve cover and down to the filter. They are black with the fabric weave around the outside. I see them all shiny and new in your engine pics :). Thanks for your help!

To be clear, the ones I am looking for are the tubes from the "blow by system" in the diagrams available through ricambi. Ferrari discontinued them, can only get the 3" pieces for $65 a pop... Thanks for any help finding a decent source. Sri does not make them yet either.

I have mine from a common industrial supply shop and paid little money for it. On my drysump car there are just two longer pieces from the oil tank to the air filter and from the oil tank to the valve cover connection.
They are neither rocket science nor italian voodoo. Just simple low-pressure hydraulic hose available everywhere in the metric world, where they stock industrial stuff. And which has to 'under-perform' for this purpose.
16 years old and still supple and strong.

    Best Regards
    Martin

Yes of course: the body problems are very limited and the factory color was silver. Most of the car is still first paint.

    Nice.

There was a silver 208 in Montreal which the former owner had re-painted in red. I have admit, it was nicer in silver.

I have one in red too, exactly like that in you picture.
The early 208 turbo model looks great in many colors, even if the silver is my first choice, because it was the introduction color.
But, if i have to choose between my two 208 GTB turbo, I prefer my red one as it has the old Modena black plate.

    Ciao

the SS tubi Style exhaust. The great power and drivability improvement this had if compared to the stock 208 turbo is due to this special exhaust, that is really fantastic as power output at mid an low RPM.

    Almost incredible!

Alberto, could you please tell me, if the tubi style exhaust is ...

    a) only the exhaust ?
    b) only the "loud" exhaust ?
    c) the complete exhaust with mainfolds
    d) only the mainfolds ?

    Do you have a part-Number ?

    Thank you !

It came with the car so I'm not 100% sure, but it looks just the muffler and (maybe) the connecting pipe between the Wastegate and the turbocharger.

Markus, I checked this morning with the car on the lifter: everything is stock on the car except the muffler. I do not know which model is that muffler, I just know above there is written "Tubi Style, Made in Italy". I will ask. It's Stainless Steel made.

    ciao

Thank you very much, Alberto , for any efforts !

My question was because at the tubistyle-site there are 4 (FOUR) differnt Exhausts for the 208 turbo between 1800 and 3300 EUR. At the italian Site of tubi style there are at least 3 different Exhausts. Which of them is the correct one - in your opion ?

    Tubi Style / Ferrari
