I have just asked Tubi Style. I'm waiting for an answer. Best price for them here in Italy. Please wait, we will buy together (I want to buy another one for the red 208 turbo too) to have the best price possible. Ciao
This looks to be a first paint car, never fixed in advance, even in the bottom of the doors. Or, at least, bare metal resprayed. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login
yes, the 208 is exactly like the 308: rust problems in the lower parts (just there, if you are lucky and you can find a well preserved car...) ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
No! Just where there is the welding. But they removed all the paint to be sure there wasn't any other and check better. On the left door there are three rusted points. Two rusted points are already welded on the last picture (one just before the ground plier and one just after) another one not yet (at the end of the door) Ciao
the rust fixing is now just completed: you can see the previous rusted points now in silver shining/gold color, as that is the color of the welding after been polished. Where you see the grey color, that's still sound steel. Now the repainting process. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Much clearer to me now. Will do a partial rust repair for mine later. So learning now. These pictures are great visual aid to me.
I'm glad to give some help, Steven. Here below the black parts just sprayed, still in the painting oven, drying. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
well, the car is just completed and certified. Pictures are with the OEM exhaust, required for Classiche. But the Tubi exhaust is highly recomended for driving. ciao Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
thanks, Markus. For the others Fchat members, the story is this one here below. One day Markus (2281GT) asked me to buy him a silver 208 GTB turbo here in Italy. I never saw one in person before. I found it and went to inspect it: I was shocked how gorgeous the 208 turbo was in that color... and we are talking of car that looks great with every color! I thougth "I want one too, now!" That was the true story behind this car. Please forget the story "it's a bad car, there is the lag, built just for Italian tax system" and so on: all bullsh@ts. A well restored or well preserved 208 turbo (82-85) car works great. Just add the Tubi muffler and this gorgeous car is fast and very pleasant to drive also today: trust me Thankyou, Markus! ciao
End of May I will be in northern Italy (Bolzano) with my 208 turbo GTB for the annual meeting of the german ferrari club. Possibly we will take a tour to Modena with all the Ferraris (about 60 cars). That would be the opportunity to take a "Twins picture" of our cars. And, Alberto: I have to thank YOU for recovering my silver 208 turbo !
