Porsche Is Building a Tesla Competitor - Bloomberg Business

So Porsche is pushing through with their billion dollar mission E project. If this thing gets close to the performance claims they are claiming Tesla is in for some major headaches.

What do you all think about a pure electric Porsche?

    Visually the car looks cool.

I myself am completely not interested in the car in any way shape or form. Would not consider owning one, even with many millions in the bank and many cars in my stable.

Electric cars don't do it for me. It takes away the passion for me.

I agree on the passion. It does look miles cooler than the Tesla though.

On the other hand, I will pre-order asap, because I have enough "passion cars", and don't need passion in my DD as much as I need DD-ishness.

Oh yeah; 600HP in my DD.......OK! ;-) (any way, how much more passion is there? ;-)

    This.

0-62 in 3.5 sec and 600 hp... that's enough to make most "passion" cars feel like barges. Ultimately that's a lot of maintenance-free performance to pass up.

All well and lovely, but for me, a daily driver means comfort and (quite importantly), blending in. This Porsche looks wonderful, and WILL grab tons of attention wherever it goes.

That's probably the one thing that would annoy me a lot when (daily) driving supercars: the huge amount of attention, especially of the kids that run after your car with their smart phone filming and grabbing pics. Hence my above statement of willingness to blend in...

Completely agree with the 'blending in" issue; also hope to 'blend' with the pack so LEO does not pick on me.....

However, my excursions take me from rural agricultural, where anything other than an F350 stands out, to hi-tech downtown where a Wraith cab blends in...... just have to take my chances (with that 600 lovely HP...;-)
