    Hi all,

On my 1980 GTSi US spec, I would like to remove all the US spec engine parts. So when removing the air pump, vacuumm hoses and electrovales etc., should I then shortend the electrical connections (3 places) to the electrovalves or keep them open?

    Thanks,

    Kind regards
    Daniel

Well, I wouldn't do it, as you will end up with a car that would not be neither fish nor fowl. To have a true euro you would also have to replace a lot of body parts, notably the engine hood, because the louvres are different.
You would not get an Euro engine by removing air pumps, vacuum hoses etc...you would have to change a lot of internal parts like the AAC if I'm not mistaken, raise the compression ratio, change the exhaust system, change the rear valance...
And still it would not be a true Euro, but it would have lost its originality.

But it is your car, and you do as you wish...

Thanks, but all I need to know is if I should leave the 3 x 2 wires open or make a small wire to shorting each connection.

    Leave them unconnected.
