Plus only 2 LMP cars for Porsche and Audi.

It seems that someone at Volkswagen got nervous about that cheat with the emissions and decided to save some money.

There has also been rumours that Porsche would prepare a new generation of cars with 4L flat-8 engine turbo to fight in GT3 and GTE, possibly in mid-engine configuration (based on the Cayman maybe?).

The flat-6 911 GT3-R is almost at the limit of development to battle against Ferrari 488, Corvette, Aston Martin in GTE, whilst in Blancpain, it is now at a disadvantage compared to the AUDI R8, Lamborghini, etc...

would make far more sense (and be far easier to homologate) if they went flat six turbo, like they just did on their road cars ;)

the car to be concerned about in GTE this year will be the Ford GT. that's the true wild card. the 488 isn't significantly better as a race car than the 458, BoP will make sure of that.

Yes, but also very much an unknown quantity at this point.

How many have been produced and sold to obtain the homologation so far?
