Bachelli & Villa built the car from scratch alongside LM restoration work around 1992. But it's quite likely the chassis was built by Vaccari as it is to full period spec, multi-tubular frame type, the side chassis tubes also doubling as water and oil carriers from the radiators in the nose back to the engine, as original.

Gearbox looks like an exact copy too.

Well spotted Steve and you are mostly correct. It is exact but not a copy !

Transmission is an original, rare as hen's teeth, 564 transaxle which was unique to the 250 LM.

Is this one of the "6045"s?

Interesting. I wonder which LM the gearbox came from? It's a very impressive build, especially if the chassis was actually made by Vaccari. Any idea of the price?

Doesn't seem to be any connection with any of the LMs claiming one of the 32 original chassis numbers.

Bachelli and Villa apparently built two as authentic replicas and one went to Ross Brawn while he was technical director of the F1 team.

It incorporates a bunch of original LM spare parts including transaxle, gearshift tower, pedal box, steering and suspension parts.

I'm surprised he can fit in a 250LM comfortably enough to drive it. I

The detailing is very impressive. The Old Racing Car Company have it listed as POA and they have apparently been getting a lot of interest around the 700K GBP area. Significant money but unlikely to see anything closer to original spec this side of the 32 originals, last one of which went for 11M+ GBP.

With current FIA papers and road registration it's quite a dual purpose vehicle : Le Mans or a trip downtown !

This replica was previously owned by Edgar Schermerhorn and he was led to believe that he bought 6167. Well, for the price paid he should have known that this was not true.

The engine used is from 4007, a GTE. There are claims that the gearbox is original LM.

    You are correct.
Bachelli have done a lot of LMs....copies and originals.
Anyway this replica is better than Monteverde's LM ( body done in UK?)

Sorry don't agree. Yes Monteverde's LM has been crashed over and over and over and over and over again but here in a 2014 event http://www.ultimate car page.com/gallery/39293/Ferrari-250-LM.html it still has correct lines [remove spaces to use link], at least in regards to the side windows.

The recreation, that is the reason for this thread, is miles off. If Bachelli have supposedly made so many, how the heck did this happen! Such a pity as it has lost the beauty of the best Pininfarina design ... :(

Monteverdes has a very very strange nose.
And I was there when he crashed it again at La Source.

How many replicas made by Bacchelli? Any other on the market?
