    She's a stunner.

Moretti bodied some really pretty cars. Congratulations.

Any more on the history of the 2 cars?

    Hello Simon,

Thanks for your message. Fuoriserie from this period are really wonderful and are witness of a postwar golden area for automobile history.

Unfortunately, I do not not have many information on this model, apart from a few period pictures and the indication that it would have been driven by Mr Moretti himself for its wedding. This is what I was told.

On the Internet, I found a trace of the other car (red, but restoration project) which was displayed at Essen show recently.

It is next to impossible to have informations on this model, so if anyone has some, that would be GREATELY appreciated.

However, I have the full history of my car on its Italian libretto. It still has its original italian plates (targa nera) and papers. The car spent almost all its life in Tromello near Milan, until it was bought a few year ago by a swiss collectioneur, and ended in my garage recently.

This one should be interesting for you. Several FIAT 1300/1500 at Carrozzeria Allemano. They are very close in design with many different details. Lovely cars.

Sweet car, love the marque and all their stunning designed smaller cars. Question for you...the period photos show whitewalls everywhere, why the decision to go sans whitewalls with yours? LOVE the blue/red...and "preserved" so original, nice find!

It seems to me that the Moretti badge on the side of the car posted by Giotto is further back from the wheel arch than on your car. The car posted by Giotto looks like a better match for the red car.

Indeed, the badger seems a bit further back on mine...

Concerning the whitewalls, the answer is simple: I have not yet had the time to do a good foto service of the car. I want to have it fully repainted with nitrocellulose paint. It was badly resprayed in the past. I will not do it here in France but in Italy. I will preserve the interior because they are so well preserved and to me its important to keep the car as original as possible.

I think the car was born in this color (the libretto indicates Max Meyer Blu Cobalto 10557). I have not found this reference and I do not know what is the current equivalent... Any idea?

Correct, with the color reference a fine painter should make the proper color. Today MM has a short paint catalogue here in Italy, maybe you can provide the cans in France before.

Thanks PG. The car is now in Turin. There are many very good painters there so I am confident they will find the proper match.

Morettis are so COOL! I found two, 1960 Tour du Mondes, a coupe and a spider in Fallbrook CA several years ago and just had to have them. Numbers matching, they await quietly in the back of the garage.

    Yes better than nothing...

At least, I discovered that I was the Happy Owner of a fantastic car that did not exist (while we have the evidence only by doing Google that there were at least 3 made...).

Just posting here to get in touch with Moretti owners,

I run the www.moretti-registry.com website, I myself own #2839 and some other italian cars.... If you have a moretti and willing to share some info I would be a pleasure, contact me...

For the moment the website is essentially full-moretti 750, I am extending it to 1200 soon and then Moretti-bodied Fiat

Ce serait kool de parvenir à scanner les documents originaux d'époque, sans abîmer ceux-ci...

Pour les mettre sur ton site.
