On a 77 the mic is in the center consol. Is that not that radio and manual for a 76? Or a Bamberg sold separately not installed @ the factory?

My Australian delivered '77 930/52 has a Becker Mexico. I have the original paperwork for the radio. I wonder if this was a dealer option or if it was a factory thing for ROW cars?[IMG]

It was nice to get an email from "Porsche News" this morning that read like this below and then was followed up with pictures and links of new Turbo's

    Dear Jamie,

Great superiority does not come from great words. Sometimes all that is needed is a single appearance. In the case of the 911 Turbo this happened at the 1974 Paris Motor Show, the power of presence of this vehicle caused a sensation at the time.

The 911 Turbo is still – and will always be – a vehicle that takes your breath away. That makes the heart beat faster. Without cheap showmanship. Without hogging the limelight. Without the need to be loud.

There may be many pretenders to the throne, but there can only ever be one ruler. The new 911 Turbo.

We hope that you enjoy this and all the latest news from Porsche.

    Your Porsche Team

Thomas - this style manual driver's mirror was installed on LHD 1975 Turbos, 9305700011 to 9305700284. Porsche fitted new electric flag mirrors for the 1976 model year and also offered a passenger electric mirror as an option.

Body color with black trim, chrome with chrome trim. At least this was the scheme with the RoW Carreras 1975.

Did an English or Italian version of the 1975 Turbo manual exist? I've only seen German and French editions.

    Bloomberg Article:

Vintage Porsches Are Rising as the Next Blue Chip Classic Cars - Yahoo Finance

Hagerty data that combines public auction sales and private sales shows that the 1974-1977 Porsche 911 has increased the most in average sale price of any classic car this year, with a jump of 154 percent in value over 2014. That’s more than anything from Aston Martin, Ferrari, or Lamborghini. Auction houses offered 27 more Porsches this year at the Monterey auctions than they did last year, especially 930s and 911 SC models. (The 930 is a flat-6 engine that was the top of the 911 range during the late ’70s and ’80s.) Searches for Porsche make up 23.5 percent of all queries by collectors ages 30 to 50, according to Hagerty.

“Guys in their 40s now had a poster of that car when they were 10 years old,” Duff said of the Porsche 911, “and now they’re out there finding them.”
