Run 355 engine after timing belt install then recheck tension?

    If I am reading it correctly the WSM says to run the engine for a few minutes after new timing belts are installed, then recheck tension and adjust if necessary. Wouldn't that mean you have to hook up ecu's, coolant, fuel and oil to it while it's sitting on the floor? Do you guys do that?

    I think I know what you are reading.
    But no, once you have installed the t belts correctly you do not start up the motor while the motor is sitting on the work bench....nor do you install the motor back in the car...re & re it a second time to recheck the tension.
    The ferrari factory work shop manual leaves a lot to be desired.
    But I do turn the motor over several times by the crankshaft pulley and check the timing, gap and belt tension.

    Read it in another language. It says to spin the motor a few revolutions
    The translation leaves a lot to be desired.
    If I dont understand I read it in the other languages and usually get it then

    Translations of the period were done by language school students with no technical background. Pretty routine for them to be wrong.
