I'm looking to buy a 2009 430 Scuderia in Rosso Scuderia (not Corsa) with a Black Alcantara interior. I'm OK with a high mileage car. Immediate cash buyer for this.

Are you also still looking for a 458 or just decided to go back to the scud?

Still looking for a 458, though I will suspend that search when the right Scud comes along.

Definitely rooting for a Scud at this point. Based on my extended drive of the 458, the 488 GTB will absolutely spark heavy depreciation on the car.

What are your impressions of the 458 vs Scud in terms of driving experience? Can you buy back your old car?

458 is smooth and effortless. All controls seem calibrated for max sensitivity; sensitive throttle, sensitive steering, super quick shifts. The car feels lightweight and eager. The refinement of the overall drive is clearly a full generation ahead of the Scud. It feels digital; it's as if someone turned up the sliders on the car's various performance metrics in a video game. The exceptional reflexes combined with the smoothness makes this a truly modern expression of a sports car.

The Scud feels like machinery. While the 458's driving interface feels like there are lots of 1s and 0s filling the layer between you and the car itself, the Scud reminds you that it's composed of hydraulics and springs and gears and pipes and all manner of other mechanical hardware. First off, Scud in-car sound with no valves is much better to my ear than the synthetic-sounding, almost nasally tone of the 458. Second, the Scud makes you aware of its rough edges - bang-bang shifts and a perfect amount of NVH for this type of vehicle. Third, the Scud's user interface makes you work harder to get at the good stuff. You have to press the pedal harder, turn more deliberately and smoother, to get it to do its best party tricks. All this adds up to the word, "raw." I'm finding this appeals to me more.

I think the 488 will affect 458 values because the new car beats the old car at its own game.

Your thoughts pretty much mirror my own. Even after owning a 458, I just never felt that connected to the car. Now after reading some of the threads about the 488 being even more soft/refined than the 458, I think I'll be holding onto my Scud for awhile.

Scratch that. I decided to send an email on a whim and just received a response saying the car is still available. I did some research, found a personal contact number, and called the alleged owner of the company directly ("Donald Large"). The person who picked up said it was a scam and lots of people have already lost money to this. He said that Donald Large retired from selling cars 6 months ago and never sold cars of this caliber. Apparently, I was the first to call on the Scud. Others actually sent deposits for some of the other 'inventory.'

I originally saw this on Cars.com the day it went up. The ad disappeared in hours.

It sounded a bit too good to be true at that price. Especially with supposed clear carfax.

Right. BTW, the dealer site appears to be offline.

Back to the OP. Still looking for this car. Immediate cash buyer for the right car and deal.
