    Can't wait till it all crashes.. maybe I can lower my insurance :p I've learned so much from this site and everybody here. Thank you to you all! If you are thinking about selling at all, sell now - its going to go downhill. I'll be here wrenching away through the next boom/bust too. Hopefully then I know more and have better tools, and a lift, and more space in my garage and maybe another car... So many and's. But I'm never selling.

    Quite a remarkable comment, especially from an F. car owner.. I hope that should you éver get in a situation in which you HAVE to sell, it won't be in the middle of a "crash" you now kind of wish for.

    Sorry, but I believe another crash is coming too and I hope to pick up another also.

    Missed the F40's at €300K - €350K the last time. :(


    Realistically an F40 will NEVER happen, but maybe a 512TR.

    They were almost cheap as dirt.

    But I was poorrer than dirt. :( Then.

    Today, I can buy (some) dirt so .......

    So, I missed why the 308 market is gonna crash??

    And I am pretty sure it follows the stock market, which is doing ok at the moment here in the states, but economies elsewhere are doing poorly (Europe). So why is the market for a 308 so strong in Europe right now? You can argue that the US is due for a market swing, but with the rest of the world the way it is, and an election year coming, I would wager that the powers that be will try their very hardest to keep the market up. Baring a catastrophic event, I'd say the 308 prices will stay the way they are and climb (albeit slower than last year), for at least another year.

    There's no debate on when to change cam belts b/c these cars are currently worth so much now it is now mandatory to change them yearly

    All jokes aside if anybody out there is paying a mechanic to change these belts anywhere near that frequently b/c these cars went up in value timing belt snaps are probably the least of their worries. Heck, those cars are probably being driven so little there are all sorts of gremlins lurking

    Market is strong in europe and the uk as there is nothing else that looks as if it will pay dividends. Stock market is too volatile, property?, bank returns very poor, classic cars potential $

    And the feds just up interest rates in the US, meaning they think the economy is strong. Why does anyone think otherwise?

    If the powers that be now have a secret plan to "inflate" our way out of the mounting debt by bringing back the 1980s, then this should bode well for commodities, collectables, and classic cars.

    I doubt it.

    The cars were way under valued for a long, long time. Right now, they are probably at fair valuation, for what you get, relative rarity, and maintenance or resto costs.

    Prices are not in a "bubble", yet.

    If you start seeing people paying $150K for #3 drivers, you are probably in bubble territory.


    I remember being offered $90K for my '79 GTS back about 1989 or 1990. THAT was bubble territory back then.
