    Sorry, new to me. First registered in the UK 6h Nov 2015. 1988 car,. Thats all I know! Has a car of this spec sold recently in the trade or at auction?

    Chelsea Cloisters in the background is in Sloane Avene in London, so that's where he photo was taken. Can't find a dealer of any sort in that street.

    Anyone know?

    Since we are talking about the iconic Pirelli P7 on the other thread, I thought I should post this here as well, look how good they look on this early DD in this famed 1986 Helmut Newton image.

    That's the Pirelli P7 R, a reinforced higher-rated version of the P7

    Somoebody changed the side indicators, since GLA12909 was swiss delivered, Long time for sale in Italy.

    I think this Picture Shows the older P7, I can't see the R on the tire.

    Its there, the person who cleaned the dust off the Pirelli script to stage the photograph for Helmut Newton did not bother to clean off the "R" for some reason, but trust me, those are P7Rs on an early Downdraft, look carefully after the "7". Or you need a better screen!

    One aspect I don't like in the DD and prefer the layout in the 5000s, is the push button switch location for the lights. The ones under the steering wheel. I guess it was easier to place here for the cabling. But I don't like this location. The metal plate is a bit springy and appears to be an afterthought in terms of design.

    On the 5000s, all was on the transmission tunnel and this is, imho, much better.

    Any ideas why they changed it?

    Because of the new vent controls and different vents in the center console, those of the LP500s are useless.
