Here is JLA12295, a 88.5 in Berlin Germany. Notice the hood badge is the same as the later unit used by the 25th Anniversario? Never seen that before. This one has the Hella driving lamps which superseded the Carellos during 88.5 production. Sorry, new to me. First registered in the UK 6h Nov 2015. 1988 car,. Thats all I know! Has a car of this spec sold recently in the trade or at auction? Chelsea Cloisters in the background is in Sloane Avene in London, so that's where he photo was taken. Can't find a dealer of any sort in that street. Anyone know?
The test was used at the feature of the January 1987 issue of Motor Trend Image Unavailable, Please Login
Since we are talking about the iconic Pirelli P7 on the other thread, I thought I should post this here as well, look how good they look on this early DD in this famed 1986 Helmut Newton image. That's the Pirelli P7 R, a reinforced higher-rated version of the P7 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Somoebody changed the side indicators, since GLA12909 was swiss delivered, Long time for sale in Italy. I think this Picture Shows the older P7, I can't see the R on the tire.
Its there, the person who cleaned the dust off the Pirelli script to stage the photograph for Helmut Newton did not bother to clean off the "R" for some reason, but trust me, those are P7Rs on an early Downdraft, look carefully after the "7". Or you need a better screen!
GLA12831, just beautiful, can't wait to see it in the USA, Valentino described this car as "amazing", a description I have not heard him use prior Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Speaking of Countachs used rain or shine, here I am years ago on a trip up the Swiss Alps, on the road from Zurich to St Moritz. For the first few hours, a steady light drizzle fell, that didn't stop the car sounding amazing in those long tunnels! And then it started to REALLY rain, pelting down to where the pantograph wiper could hardly keep up with the task at hand! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Eventually the skies cleared and we were able to enjoy the road passing through one beautiful Swiss town after another, the sound of snap, crackle & pop of the exhaust's overrun bouncing off the old stone walls as we slowed to pass through. Robert, which one is the Bianco Perlato/Bianco D 731 UGN? Note white caulking from the factory, in this 1988 image. Image Unavailable, Please Login
One aspect I don't like in the DD and prefer the layout in the 5000s, is the push button switch location for the lights. The ones under the steering wheel. I guess it was easier to place here for the cabling. But I don't like this location. The metal plate is a bit springy and appears to be an afterthought in terms of design. On the 5000s, all was on the transmission tunnel and this is, imho, much better. Any ideas why they changed it? R Image Unavailable, Please Login
Because of the new vent controls and different vents in the center console, those of the LP500s are useless.
HLA12045 has had its engine overhauled/blueprinted under the auspices of Valentino Balboni and his affiliates in Italy, so needless to say its a quick one and well-fettled. This Downdraft is available for anyone looking for an original well-cared-for example.
