Great photo Marcel - compare the modest rear fender lines accenting the tail lights on the Ferraris, to the winged American cruisers in the background!

    Not 1537 GT?
    Thank you!

    Factory records state:
1537 GT (the 250 GT Cabriolet S2 Pinin Farina) was Rosso Bordeaux MM 10027 with Vinyl and Leather Naturale VM 3218.
1539 GT (the 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Scaglietti) was Rosso Scuro Metallizzato with beige interior.

Please note that Rosso Bordeaux is quite a different color than Rosso Scuro Met.

Here is a factory photo of 1539 GT, in the courtyard at Maranello.

Many thanks Marcel for the historic image of 1539 GT. That looks like the same location where the press saw the 1962 Ferrari race line up displayed including a 'spoiler-less' 1962 250 GTO 3223 GT.
Does 1539 GT still wear it's factory born with paint color today?

In those days (late 1950s and early 1960s) the factory press conferences and presentations were mostly held in the courtyard in Maranello. Same for the 24 February 1962 press conference with the GTO.

Here's a pic of SWB 1539 GT at Ferrari Classiche in Maranello in October 2015. More of a "regular red" now.

The 1954 New York auto show was in a new location that year at the New York Seventh Regiment Armory located at Park Avenue and 66th Street. 150,000 people visited the show over 8 days. The show generated 2 million dollars in sales.

Thanks to Boudewijn, this is a color picture of 1539 GT in Paris, 1959.

Rosso Scuro Metalizzato seems to be close to the modern Rubino Micalizzato.

Not a good photo but interesting.
Raab lists 6167 as David McKay.
Employees told me Bill Lowe certainly used it as his personal car for a while. Eventually sent back to factory (?)

    Wow, love to see that.
No idea of origin of my photo -- looks like a photocopy -- does that explain the blanked out section? Maybe an advertisement?
