LOL, yes, I have been tempted too. But be aware that later, when you would like to buy a Ferrari again, prices will have moved upwards quite significantly and you'll pay much more for a car that is possibly of lesser quality than today.

In fact, I bought my blue Mondial QV in 2005 and sold it in 2010 because I wanted to have a new Abarth 500 and with the lack of space at the time, I sold my Mondial to a dealer in Antwerp. That gave me a lot of heartache and even though the Abarth was a great car, it didn't have the same spirit as the Mondial. In 2014 by coincidence I saw my old Mondi up for sale and reacted immediately. The next day, I paid a visit to my ex-car and bought it back! It was also a very emotional moment when I opened up the glovebox and a picture of me in the Mondial fell out. When I bought it back, I promised myself and my blue Mondi I would never sell it again in my life. Aaaarrghhh! Tears are burning my eyes! ;)

This is a ride that is worth its money sort of speak. Pity it does not come with the suite case set. However still very complete.

Well i'm in the market for an '86 cab, and something as shiny and sparkling as that looks lovely but I guess its a museum piece. It's definitely pushing the price boundaries for a 3.2 and by the time you've spent the extra notes to make it actually drivable you have a car you may be too scared to actually drive. I imagine it will end up in another private collection.

If anyone has a well maintained, original 86 cab they're considering moving on, you know where to find me!

Can a US Mondial QV be sold and exported to the U.K., Australia, or Asia?

(given what they're going for now, might be worth shipping, no?)

Jonathan, your Yellow T is striking. GLWS! As the new owner of one of the '79 Coupes I'm really amazed how the Mondial market is rising.

A new E-Bay listing: Ferrari Mondial | eBay

28K miles, broken windshield, passenger window stuck closed, hasn't been on the street since 2009. No mention of service. Only $25K to get you in the game.

Is the mondial market in the US now catching up with Europe? Or are there just some punchy asking prices? It seems that 308/328 prices have softened recently but asking prices for mondials have risen. Maybe it's natural when you have rapid movement in the market.

A seemingly nice looking low 20 mileage sera blue t didn't break 40k at auction in the summer. Strikes me the higher priced ones are sticking around. Certainly the punchier priced 3.2's I've seen have all subsequently dropped in price. Whether the
condition of the higher priced cars warrants those asking prices or not... I wouldn't know, I'm no expert... Just not sure asking prices are reflective of sales prices.

The "red hot" 328 market has cooled a lot ... I see cars in the 75K range that appear to be no stories cars sitting unsold. I don't think the Mondial market was ever "red hot", perhaps lukewarm, but sellers got greedy when they say 308s going up and priced the cars above market. Cars priced over $40K are not selling period no matter how nice. Under $30K there is some movement. In between seems spotty depending on the car. I still say an 8 is a $15-20K car, QV 20-25, 3.2 25-30, and T 30-35. This is the US market. Europe is a different story.

For average prices I'd say that you're on the money.

+1 - those price ranges is also what I've been seeing for 'average' cars. I believe for most cases, they are accurate.

I don't see any real appreciation until about 5-15 years time...

The market seems to always soften in November to early January. In mid-January, the high profile auctions start and that's when things seem to become heated again.

    It usually is.

Ferrari posers, hosers, haters, "wanna be experts," 14 year olds posing as 39 year olds, you will find it all in there.

We got 'em, we love 'em, they don't, **** 'em.

Next to F-chat and some other sites, BaT is my daily www hang out spot.
They come up with a diverse bunch of cars, all interesting in a certain way.
Like everywhere on the www, BaT is also packed with 'airchair crusaders' who talk nonsense. I read around it, it doesn't bother me. But be glad, if everyone had and loved Mondials, we wouldn't have one because overpriced or NLA.

On topic: I like the combo of the car: grey, red interior and a sunroof. It ticks all my boxes. I'd change the chrome 348 wheels for silver ones.
