LOL! Love that they're 'aspiring' to be men... A way to go methinks. Sound like a couple of kids got hold of a couple of cars and are trying to leverage them into a business network. The word I hate most these days - lifestyle. Do they really think this crap 90s advertising is going to attract movers and shakers; even if the drives were well organized and fun would anyone really want to be associated with something like this?
I bypassed looking at the site 'cos I thought it'd be full of tosser's,having seen all the positive remarks here (sick!),I think I'll have to have a look. Wish I hadn't,now.
Just listed and already sold? Weird. https://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Ferrari-F355-1997/SSE-AD-3766230
Not really surprising, someone snapped it up because by comparison to the others on the market it was cheap at $115k. A work colleague was on the market for a Porsche 964 manual, he had been looking for 18months , using the carsales search instant notification when one was listed at 5 in the afternoon he rang and he was on the doorstep at 8 the next morning an hour later he owned it.
Wow. Those F1s are sitting there whilst the 6 speeds get snapped up quick smart. What does that say...
Not to mention that there are quite a few F1s which were on there only a couple of weeks ago (at a much higher price than the el-cheapo manual car), but are there no longer. Wow. What does that say?
I think anyone who prefers the F1 when a manual was available is 'old enough' to no longer really enjoy driving.
Maybe you should call out John Bowe and explain to him how he's wrong about his claim that the 355 F1 box is slow and clunky. What would he, or anyone on here, know, right? You're the one and only expert on the matter.
Thanks for confirming that you don't have a clue what you're talking about. And yeah, I'll listen to John Bowe over Michael Schumacher any day. Idiot.
I'd be happy to, but why would I? I respect his view. But I don't have to agree with it. There are other racing drivers who would disagree with him. And last time I checked people were allowed to disagree in this country. At least he's got the brains to spend some time with a 355F1 before giving his opinion.
I've spent time with a 355F1 too.....but since you're the world wide expert, I still think you should give him a call and set him straight. I also remember clearly watching 360C drive around the track in his 355ch and being amazed at how much quicker the gear changes were in his car than the 355F1s he was lapping. Get over it. They were never good....but they were the start of something that's turned out to be excellent in modern cars.
Actually, it's interesting you say that, because you've certainly not allowed anyone else to have an opinion. Maybe John Bowe is the first.
Finally you got something right! "Not allowed"? Really? Don't be such a sook. In my world ALL opinions are allowed. Even stupid ones, like yours.
lol....you had so little credibility already. That post would have brought it to about zero....on the subject of F1 gearboxes anyway.
