They look pretty good. Its almost time for a new TV or two. But this time I'm going really big! It was three or four years ago, Mitsubishi had really good deals on their TV's. I bought two 73's. I wanted their 80 something or their 92, but they didn't have any in stock and couldn't order more. Discovered a few months latter Mitsubishi stopped making consumer TV's. I kick myself for not going bigger. This time I want the biggest available.

I'll be buying a new TV soon and am strongly considering am LG OLED set. I currently have a Panasonic plasma that's been fantastic and if they still made them that's what I would get. But they don't...

My space can only accommodate a 55" unit. I would prefer the LG 55" flat 1080p OLED set but it seems to be no longer available. They still have the curved screen set available but I'm not sure I like the curve. The 55" flat 4k set is $1,000 more expensive - about $3,000. That's triple the price of many decent 55" 4k LCD sets. I'm not sure it's worth the premium.

I have a 10 year old Panasonic plasma and it's hard to argue why I should replace it. Picture quality is excellent.

I have the same tv now, I think it was $10k, but oled look pretty incredible, they are thinner, weigh allot less, and only have 1/4" bezel around the screen.

    Toy time :)

The LG OLEDs have gotten amazing reviews on picture quality and it always stops me in my tracks when I'm at Best Buy. The contrast and blacks are absolutely amazing. I think slickdeals recently had a posting for the 55" OLED 4K for $3k with a $450 rebate plus another tv that you could probably sell for $300...that's not a bad deal for $2,250.

You could always just hold out of the 8K OLEDs that we may see in 5 years. ;)

Edit: Here's the deal that expired. I'm sure more will follow: http://slickdeals.net/f/8407761-lg-55ef9500-55-inch-2160p-4k-uhd-smart-3d-flat-oled-tv-w-webos-2-0-15-rewards-42lf5600-42-inch-1080p-led-2999-free-shipping

2 year old grandson launched Thomas the Tank Engine thru my less than 1 year old curved 65" 4k Samsung today and of course no warranty in the world covers it so as much as I'd like to pull the trigger on the 65" OLED a 6 grand hit would be much harder to take than the 3 grand hit I took today. Picture quality on the OLED is stunning but until the home situation changes (He and daughter live with us) I'll probable replace it with another Samsung - but I can get two 2016 4K 65" M series Vizio's for about the same price. Decisions, decisions ------

Would you buy a curved model (TV) again?
