    Nice photos!

The silver one is probably #398, I think Marc (or the other Bart) mentioned that #398 also went from Sweden to Holland last year.

Did you drive this to the Goodwood Revival this year? I saw a similar car in the same colour? Anybody here?

    Hello all, happy new year!:)

31 K's were sold in Japan, all left hand drive (they wanted them like in Europe) 21 of them were automatic.

Many were white as that color has special significance in Japanese culture being associated with purity (please correct me if I am not accurate enough) I have zero data on 070 and from the comments on that other forum it has non factory wheels, I have many photos of unidentified Japanese Khamsins (I had some help from a Japanese friend in researching them but they are very private) however none of a white car with wrong wheels so curious to see it.

It would be good if the new owner would communicate and post photos here, I can help him get info from Maserati Classiche once they come back from holiday.

It is most likely a smooth nose car with such an early VIN.

The only other K I know of in New Zealand is an extremely late right hand drive car AM120.423 owned by E.W. in Auckland, red with grey interior.

The Japanese K I would love to find is this one, a very old photo, in beautiful light gold, chassis number unknown:)

Regarding the silver K shown on a truck a few posts above yes it is 398, formerly owned by B.K. in Stockholm.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hi Marc,

I've had a look over there and it is indeed a smooth nose car with early seats etc. Black interior, bumpers painted all white too. The new owner has original wheels to put on and I have reached out to him and mentioned your name. The odometer has a very low reading so will be interesting if it is genuine low miles.

Happy new year to you all

    Regards

    Bal

    Hi Bal!

Happy new year to you and yours!

Thanks for the details on 070, pity that the folks who created that forum won't allow cross communication. Hopefully by way of personal messages we can liaise with the lucky new owner of 070 and help him with anything he needs.

Re my email I hope you can join our June event as you did in 2012:)

    All the best,

    Marc

    Hi Marc,

I will keep you posted on any replies.

The odometer shows 28k so that's pretty low if original.

I will be honest as I haven't had time to read your email in detail. I will see if it is at all possible make it.

    Regards

    Bal

Oh sorry I forgot to say that from the pictures it's a manual transmission car, so rare for Japan from your figures above.

    Hi Richard,

Hope you, your dad and your macchina are well.

The site is being redone it will be up within the next few weeks, 10 years after I left the US it was time to have the site based on this side of the pond so I now have a new website manager, in the UK. The site needed to be modernized as well.

I will announce when it is back on, same web address but much improved content.

    Best regards,

    Marc

That time of the year again already, and the odo of 435 reads exactly as it did last year on the same date.
My new-years resolution is that it will get finished this year.

Btw Marc, was at FMM this morning, unfortunately no sign of 1777GT. Did see the \Nembo coupe though, not as nice but not too shabby either. They do need some 70-ies Italians though! On the way back we reasoned that out of all the cars we saw, and what is in our garages, the K would have been the best car to make the trip in. Instead we were in an Audi convertible. Shame on me.

    Best,

    Jack.

    Hi Jack!

Good luck with 435 don't forget the photos of it with African wildlife in the background as discussed at the beginning of the process;-)

Maybe Franschoek is having the Nembo restored? It was so wrong in plain red, it should be Burgundy or dark blue as it initially was, let me know if you find out anything, thanks.

    Richard,

Not sure, Revival probably, not been in 3 years so feel the itch now, but you should come down to Retromobile early February hotel rooms cheaper now with all the cowards cancelling Paris hotel reservations. Monaco Historic Grand Prix, our event in June in Burgundy and Le Mans Classic are three others I will definitely attend, so hope to see you there.

    All the best,

    Marc

    Hello Marc,

Just found a note that I apparently made in 2003 about a light blue Khamsin: "AM120334 Light blue metallic Khamsin for sale at www.classicdriver.com, French car, original Belgium, asking £ 21000 plus"

Some time ago you showed a photo of a light blue Khamsin with French plates and asked for the chassisnumber. Maybe it's #334?

    Hello AMLC,

Yes it is indeed the same car, my friend Philippe M was able to meet the owner, quite a character and to ascertain that it was also the car which had a gigantic trident sticker on the nose some years ago (a la Boomerang albeit not quite identical). Here are some photos. in this post and a second one.

By the way I just sent you an email but the address I have is the one in your 2011 email if not correct please PM me.

    Best regards,

    Marc

More photos of 334, it was sold new in 1979 to a couple, the current single owners by Staumont in Brussels the Belgian importer at the time but they now live in the south of France. They used to have a Panther (the feline not the car!) and drove around with it in their Mercedes and perhaps in the Khamsin too:)

The last photo, very small and a combination of four was the one seen over a decade ago when they advertised the car for a while (when nobody knew what K's were or wanted one) but wisely decided to keep it. You can see the huge trident sticker on the hood.

    Best regards,

    Marc

    Hi Joe,

yes and just one car separates my former K 1242 from the other offered 1238.

1238 was originally light blue and was offered years ago by Mario Bernardi in Germany.

Mario Bernardi - Klassische Automobile - Cars sold - Maserati Khamsin

I saw it at the Nurburgring in 2009, nice car but red is just not the best color for a K whereas the original light blue would be great.

For the sake of transparency I don't have a stake in the sale of either just supplied notes for the text of my ex car.

Khamsins have done well with them in the past, and it seems that the market -at least at these auctions- is less concerned with the original markets/spec of the Khamsin. Does this indicate that the market continues to be driven by investors?
The difference between the low est of the one and high est of the other is 100%. That cannot be just the colour. The Dutch restorer must be doing a good job of it then.

It will be interesting to see where it all ends!

    Best,

    Jack.
