The all'Amatriciana was good but I would rather have Carbonara anytime. Although true traditional carbonara has no peas in it a lot of folks do add it.

Now I want to make that again too. It really is a simple dish but when done properly is pretty sublime. :)

Well the order never went through and I couldn't even get their site to open today....at all.
But I went to Amazon and found they sell there also so ordered the grate and handle there. Same price but not eligible for free Prime shipping unfortunately.

I take it Panzerotti is another name for Calzone.

I think the difference is one deep fried and the other baked.

More places make them in Toronto then here. Its one thing I miss about Toronto.

Tonight I did a simple meal that my grandma used to do for me when I came home from school. Leftover Spaghetti. Add tomato sauce, parmesan cheese, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese. As cheesy as you can stand it! Mix it up good. Throw onto a hot skillet. Wife and I are in the midst of renovation, so I didn't have my cast iron available. So, I used a non mstick skillet, melted a little olive oil and butter. Cook spaghetti until it has a nice crust. Flip a few times. Fried spaghetti! Not fancy, but filling...T

Gregg...If you have a cast iron skillet, it's the best path to cheesy, crusty goodness. I hope you try it. If so, report back...T

A pizza chain in Toronto has both on the menu and that's how they explained it. If you ordered either they would ask deep fried or baked. So I don't know which is what. I always did deep fried.

Tonight was boring. A place called Bob's burgers & brew. They even have a hot rod on the roof. At least its in the U.S. and they'll do burgers medium rare. The restaurant is across the street from Safeway. Was hungry and they are the best choice in the area.

I'd never heard of Panzerotti before and what I read said that was the one that is usually fried. I've always had Calzones and they've always been baked. Fried sounds good too. :)

I didn't until moving to Toronto. More popular East of the Rockies.

Tonight is "cheap" movie night. They sell movie tickets half price every Tuesday. They've done this deal for the past 30 years. Although not excellent its the best restaurant in the area. Do the French Canadian bistro and a movie.

Today I'm making meatloaf with mushroom gravy. I'm back to my swing shift time schedule at work so I'm actually making it now. Should be done in an hour or so. Should be good. :)

You can't go wrong with homemade meatloaf and gravy, mashed 'taters swimming in butter and a side vegetable like corn or French cut green beans or Black-eyed pea's and some cornbread.

+1 But go for black eyed beans. It's a Southern tradition to have them around the New Year for good luck...T

Couple nights ago made braised short ribs and homemade pasta. Pretty good for a first try on the pasta. Will post pictures when I can.

By hand. I do use a small rolling machine I got as a gift about 20 years ago to get the right thickness.

Oops I think it was a calzone then :)

Panzerotti recipes say to fry it before baking, which I did not do
