Now spotted in the wild! My second issue of Via Corsa is now hitting news stands across the country! These issues were spotted at Walmart. Can be yours for $5.95 or $20 for a one year subscription (linked below) Image Unavailable, Please Login
They do. But B&N is delayed (come to find out) as when it does appear on 1/16, it will be in the featured title slot. Should be everywhere else like Walmart, Books-a-Million, and Hastings. Guess I should have checked that before posting.
My second issue arrived in the mail on Monday and undamaged to, which is often the exception for paper envelopes. Great story visiting the factory; I like that yellow Speciale A immortalized in the story there! Wonder who the lucky owner was... Thank you Ron!!!
I subscribed as soon as I saw the magazine advance notice referred to on FerrariChat. I have received both issues in the mail and have enjoyed reading the articles and the pictures relating to the articles are great. I even like the advertising. It is also great to see Suixtil on the come back and advertising in the magazine My only complaint or concern so far is that the f-bomb and sexual innuendoes for driving or describing a car have been used in certain articles in both issues. This is not necessarily a problem for me, but unfortunately, I have some reservations that the magazine may not be entirely appropriate for some families or share with younger age groups. I don't think the language adds much to the descriptions in the articles or the purpose of the magazine, but that it says more than I need to know about the personal convictions and attitudes of the author. I regret that, because I think that otherwise it would be a great magazine to share with my grandkids, or other kids, and hopefully, encourage their interest and enthusiasm for cars and driving in general, and more specifically sports car. I don't know that the magazine was intended or designed to be a "family" magazine, but it would be a great magazine for families that enjoy the sports car lifestyle. However, notwithstanding, I will continue to subscribe to the magazine and expect to enjoy reading it. Best regards, Jerry Webber
Point taken. Always hard to try to appeal to those that like Maxim and those that want more of a family oriented mag. I'll have my columnist tone it down in the future.
The name is a bit misleading to me, Is this a Ferrari Magazine similar to Forza or Cavallino or is it more of a car magazine that covers more than just Ferrari?
No. It is not a Ferrari magazine. It is a car travel magazine. The second issue out is all about the Ferrari factory and what is interesting to forum members here. I don't cover one brand but am personally biased towards Ferrari. Past and future issues will cover a healthy mix of European and American cars, but honestly that is actually misleading because it isn't the car that I want to focus on. It is the journey and the destinations. In the story about the Ferrari factory, I don't actually talk about the 458, F12, FF, or 488 but instead talk about Maranello and the factory. I can explain the name if you want if you think it is misleading.
Ron, Just received the second issue. Fantastic. I commend you on what will surely be a regular purchase of all car enthusiasts. I must also second the comment from Jerry Webber....enough vulgar language out there as it is....your magazine doesn't need that. Really though, rapidly becoming my most anticipated magazine in my mail box. BTW, best new magazine title in years. Advertisers take note, this is where the new readers are going. Congrats.
Found just one Issue #2 at B & N on Fifth and 46th in Manhattan this past Monday. Bought it, subscribed by completing the post card, ordered Issue #1 and mailed both in an envelope to Ron. Looking forward to Issue #3. Walter
So thumbs up or down on mentioned columns? My fault totally. I told my intrepid columnist to go "Gonzo" and write something Hunter S. Thompson would be proud of.
It completely depends on what market you're aiming for. It was a fine column, certainly made its point and portrayed the passion. But I agree with the prior poster that it might make me uncomfortable tossing the magazine to my nephew. I never had that problem with other car-based magazine, except maybe the Tats-N-Rats style ones. In full fairness, I don't recall the specific language, just that it was very much Carbon McCoy.
I just picked up issue #2 at my grocery store in Nebraska. Very nice magazine. Congrats Ron on the magazine and your success.
