Loking to Superformance pictures, it looks they sell the Fiat repro carb tool that here costs 7,4 euro + taxes: their price is 27 GBP (36 euro) + taxes. It costs five times! In my opinion, or you buy the correct one (100-120 euro) or you buy the cheap Fiat repro (9 euro tax included). Yes...PB Swiss Tools screwdrivers are near dead ringers for Ferrari drivers..they just look new and are higher quality. I'll see about resurrecting the repro toolkit thread...not wanting to derail this thread with repro stuff, sorry. Fiat carb tools were too darned close to ignore though.
Geez, the Swiss screwdrivers are available at very cheap prices but shipping is more than the tools. $32 for drivers and 40 for shipping. Should I pay around $100cdn for uncorrect screwdrivers? How much will cost the original ones? Opinions please!

I think someone is trying to become rich by emptyng our pockets. 250 USD for a screwdriver is a robbery. It isn't a car visible part, it's hidden in the tool bag! And sometimes, they are even fake or, at least, incorrect too. I saw an ad here on an Italian site for a "complete Ferrari 308 jack, 450 euro", with the lifter, the tube and the lever. I asked to have some pictures, as in the ad there weren't. As I have several of them, I know very well how they have to be: when I received the pictures, I clearly saw none of the three piece was coming from a 308 jack. Just robbery. My opinion: take a bag (an original or a good copy) and put in it some tools close to the original and with the same measures. Maybe better paying big money just if you need just that tool to complete your fully original tool bag or jack bag. ciao

Try to do the maths here. A complete set costs about 2k now (nominal I reckon), we have 15 or 16 items in the kit excluding window crank. Breakdown if you buy them one by one: 100-150 @ screwdriver = 400-600 80-150 @ wrench = 640-1200 150-200 @ pliers 200-250 @ spark plug wrench 80-120 @ carb tool 150-200 @ pouch A grant total minimum of 400+640+150+200+80+150=$1620 A grant total maximum of 600+1200+200+250+120+200=$2570 It's reasonable people are looking for close modern replacements. And, I think we should not use repro here as they are not repros of the original style But it's just much easier to type Of course some screwdrivers (round ended V.10,000!) or wrench (14/14mm Utema!) may cost more than others.
Albert speaks the truth, here. The ONLY time it would matter, is judging at a show, and if I am not mistaken, repros OR facsimiles are readily accepted. I will be over grazing the buffett! There was a really nice Ferrari tool kit offered once that came in a Schedoni leather box, IIRC it was 1500 Euro, and would certainly be called a 'Factory Kit'. have you ever seen that, Albert??? it was when Falcom was supporting the F1 team , IIRC They were certainly better tools than we are chasing here!
I stumbled across a jack ratchet when searching for tools, (I had mine stored só very carefully that after a couple of years I can't find it anymore.. ) in pretty rough state, to put it mildly. There was a "place a bid above" sum mentioned, on which zero bids were placed during the auction. So I dropped the seller a line and asked to have it send over after the auction had ended (I'm not an "Ebayer") for the "asking price"or "minimum bid price" (difficult language, English..) with shipping costs. But no, they would restore it and put it up for sale once more. Guess I'd have to cough up silly money for an old cr*ppy jack ratchet which would already have ended up in the scrap metal bin, if it wasn't "Ferrrari". Well, after next august I'm the very proud owner of an authentic, personally imported NiceNewOldTrueItalianButveryaffordableAlbertostyleToolroll, and will try to fill it up with as authentic (looking) stuff as I can find, without having to get a second mortgage on my house !!!

Great thread with tons of detail. Have tools ad jack in correct pouches, but would love ideas on how to get them all clean.
I have the original jack, jack bag and that round black-with-green bulb-thing (how 's it called in English) , only the ratchet and that 22 mm wrench-thing you use to loosen the wheel bolts (again, that English... aarcch...) with, have vanished in very, véry thin air.. So if for some reason you'd end up with these left, after completing your kits, keep me posted !
Rotor/bulb/fuse holder (the round plastic box) Lug wrench, with plastic sleeve on handle. This is so short as to be useless! I hit the nearest Pawn Shop, buy a nice 18" to 24" breaker bar, and buy the correct metric socket out of the bin they have to hold all the loose ones!!
...you are supposed to torque the wheel bolts, anyway!! I use a Sears "beam type" that I found in the garage, after Dad died.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
