I'd go Straddle as well. Not only is it one of the best looking Ferraris (IMHO) but there are fewer than Scuds and you won't be able to tap the Scud's performance as much on the street...not that the CS can really be exploited much on the street either...

IMO naturally aspirated cars are much more fun for Sunday drives, says a guy who currently owns a tuned 997 Turbo.
GT2s do not seem undervalued from my perspective, but maybe i'm not close enough to know.

Have the regular 997 GT2 passed the 200k mark already?

By the time the cs can really accelerate you've probably already run out of road!

Let's see, three flavors that to my eye are:

    - fast enough and very raw and visceral

    - plenty fast and pretty raw and visceral

    - stupidly fast and fairly visceral

You can kill your self quickly in any of these. All good choices.

I don't know your collection of cars.

I have a 430 MT spider. My live-in GF is buying a 458. For me I would take the GT2.

I think CS, Scud, and GT2 are great cars and if for a Sunday fair weather car, all will exceed your expectations. However if you are looking for a car as a collector, I would look at the 16M. It is a Scud convertible with same incredible engine, fantastic transmission, and more collectible with only 499 units allegedly produced. Currently, they are about 30-50K over MSRP depending on condition. They haven't risen like the CS, which is odd. The 16M represents a commemorative edition to the 16 F1 car builders championship titles. It likely will be the last Ferrari ragtop, last single clutch Superfast F1 transmission, and last spider with the engine visible through a glass top. I know a lot people like the manual transmission, but if you have never experienced the Scud transmission shift at 8K, it is literally a kick in the back. It shifts so hard and combined with the aural sensations from the engine, truly an addicting combination. Also there is no way to match the downshift revs with a heel-toe like the F1 trans, it really has a race car like sound.

If you can score a 991GT3 RS at MSRP or a slight premium, highly recommended. The Porsche RS is an outstanding car, but can't say much about collectibility. Low production, but not limited. The curves and aero on this car are something incredible. The sound is different than the Ferrari, but still great. Haven't taken it up to 8K rpm but it sounds darn good at 5K. Its still somewhat a concern if Porsche will stay with a NA engine in the next generation GT car, if they don't watch out for this car. The PDKS transmission is just incredible. Smooth, fast shifting with no drama just stunningly quick and efficient. You would not miss the manual transmission on this car. The brute power of the GT2 is phenomenal but the total package of the GT3 RS is something special.

Actually OP, It depends on what cars you currently have. If you have cars which already overlap the cars mentioned, I would look at something different like a V12 Ferrari. There is not much that compares to the V12 Ferrari in pure sound and feel.

So I've narrowed it down and seems like I want my next one to be an F-car, rather than another P-car. Just the excitement factor from the speed and sound where the GT2 is lacking sound in its original state. The question is now (and want to hear your opinions) whether a 20k mile Stradale in RS with factory stripe a better investment than an 08 Scud in RC with 6k miles?? Considering both are clean well documented cars.

Ferrari values are very sensitive to mileage. If you're focused on investment, between these two cars I'd go with the scud because of its low miles. That said, if you put a lot of miles on it you'll hurt its value. This is the problem with buying a car both to drive and as an investment. The two purposes are in conflict with each other.

Owners fail to realize that if every one of us actually went out to enjoy their fcars more often, the benchmark of what "high mileage" is will inevitably change for the better. The more folks who hold themselves back to this really antiquated perspective and not drive their fcars, the longer the "anything-over-5k-is-high-mileage" mentality will remain, irregardless of when the car was made...

I chuckle when I still see comments about CS' with over 5k miles as "high mileage"...that thing is like 12 years old man...

I think it's a toss up between the CS and Scud. 30 years from now, the mileage delta won't mean as much as rarity. The CS is four times as rare as the Scud.

four times is an exaggeration , isn't it? rumored production #s are like 12xx and 18xx , respectively

What is the overall opinion of actual Scuds produced? There has been large variances in the spectrum so far. But there is no question about it that there are many more Scuds available for sale than Stradales.

I don't know the actual numbers but the scud did have a two year production run + 16m variant compared to the single year production of the CS. I can see one would conclude there are 2x-3x more scuds out there.. Someone correct me on actual #s tho

This guy...fact of the matter is no one, other than Ferrari, really knows and the educated guesses that have been tossed out have ranged from 1,400–3,000. Not 4,000.

Next, I'm going to hear how the CS is just as fast as a Scud for the millionth time...
