    I have to give here credit she has put up with me tinkering with toys cheap and exotic for the last 34 years.
    I not complaining as I prefer to subscribe to the ask forgiveness over ask permission tactic.

    Mine suggested the first Ferrari but still isn't pleased with the idea of them.

    My dad would have hated the Ferrari, too much money invested in a stupid car was his take, but he loved Jags , had more than enough money for the best Jag ever but never bought one.

    I often think of him when I'm out driving Satan on my own or with my boy and wished he had lived long enough to have a drive and see what the legend/myth/mystic is about these stupid cars ..... yes too much money but I can't think of too many materialistic things that cheer me up like the 355 does :)

    I did say I subscribe to the concept .... doesn't all ways go that way.. you see I bought a 933 TipTronic at her suggestion, as she said it would be good in traffic... yeah right . don get me wrong they are a good thing .. but an early 4 speed sports auto.
    What I did buy with out asking was a semi barn find 71 Lotus Elan sprint from its original owner..
    she wasn't happy about that. 6 months of recommissioning and it was fabulous... but then one lunch time suffering a case of exotic car remorse I stumbled on the 456....She approved and story goes full circle...

    the Queen Mother I rebuilt in 1990 is still smoke free after quite a few miles, AFAIK it's only had routine servicing and no problems. Likewise my Daytona was still strong and tight 7 years on from the rebuild.

    With modern components (such as your custom guides) and frequent oil & coolant changes, you should expect 100~150K kms before you pull it down again.

    Modern materials and new tech oils in older designs make a huge difference, just don't tell the purists.

    New pump mounts arrived today 6days from Phenix amazing, they are a work of art, CNC art to be precise.
    She also got new shoes today, the car not my wife.
    Pirrelli asimmetrico, good bit was the price and they are the latest batch.
    And very happy with the tyre guys who used a torque wrench to do the bolts up.

    Update on Fuel smell issue.

    Besides the comments on the other thread for Australians some extra notes.
    The ATL fuel tube I have found hard to get in Australia, so Summit racing in the US to the rescue.6 days delivery
    Ricambi for the fuel connection O-Rings 8 days delivery and Pirtec for the 8mm immersible fuel hose SAE30R10 Spec... its $30.00 for 500mm !
    Fuel clamps I used a full circle type not the stainless ones that cut the tube.
    As for the large gaskets I had them made and have spares I will think about selling some once I am happy with the result.
    as a Final note any one doing up the fuel connections they don't hold up the Harbour bridge!!! and the O-ring do the sealing not the fitting them selves and there should be a wave ~~ washer under the nut, in fact you should just be able to rotate the fuel connection, that istight enough..
