Let's hear from anyone with ideas for the perfect spec for this car. Do you go low profile with grey and silvers or in your face with yellows and bright blues.

I have now specced my car so many different ways that I have a nosebleed, so look forward to all considered thoughts.

I would go with rubino micalizzato over Black with Rubino Piping, stitching and seat belts. CF on the rest if the interior.

Red with gloss black wheels and red calipers is what I'd do. Yellow reminds me too much of the Corvette Z06.

Black on black with black stitching and black calipers. Also black turning lights.

And I'd drive it only in moonless nights.

Well here are my specs and suggestions:

    Exterior -
. Rosso Fuoco triple layer paint with no livery
. All carbon fibre body work/engine bay options
. Wheel rims in glossy black
    . Rosso Corsa brake calipers
. Matte carbon fibre hub caps
. Special order painted Scuderia shields
. Special finish exhaust tips in Nero Opaco
. Special order carbon fibre door handles (if available)
. Engine bay signed by every Ferrari worker that contributed to the birth of the car

    Interior -
. 1 piece carbon fibre race seats + charcoal leather trimmed harness bar + 4 point seat belts in rosso
. Central seat stripe in Rosso
. Internal colours - charcoal alcantara
. Upper part - charcoal leather
    . Headliner - charcoal alcantara
. Upper dashboard - charcoal leather
. Lower dashboard - charcoal alcantara + glovebox - charcoal alcantara with Rosso stripe
. Rear deck - charcoal leather
. Steering wheel - charcoal leather
. Fully trimmed boot in charcoal alcantara with tailored luggage set
. Stitching - Filo Speciale Rosso
. Cavallinos on headrests + 'F12 TDF' embroidery below
    . White rev counter
. All carbon fibre interior options excluding cup holder (tacky and unsightly IMHO - read somewhere it is an option?)
. Carbon fibre interior surfaces in rosso (dash top in matt finish to reduce glare)
. Handy fire extinguisher trimmed in charcoal leather

    That should do it! :)

Tim, unfortunately the perfect spec is the next one in your head. like you I went through many permutations but in the end decided on my main colors and then the rest followed. My only potential regret is that I didn't do matte carbon for the interior. There are a couple of other things I might have done but I couldn't get a Tailor Made appointment as the factory was time constrained by the end of 458 production. I think just take your main theme and go Tailor Made - they're pretty good.

Bianco Italia w. Rosso Coburn Scud style livery. Bordeaux interior with Nero Alcantara carpets, Bordeaux floormats, Nero special stitching w. black carbon in and out - gloss if possible.

Bright silver wheels NOT black w. matching silver centercaps, Nero Lucido calipers and no shields if possible.

Easier to recommend what not to do.
This is not a "low profile" car.
Would not do Rossa Corsa, but if "red" go with a dazzling nuanced red that sets this car apart from the herd.
Be careful of too much alcantera. I suspect it is a bit of a "fad" like brown shag rugs of the '70's.
CF as much as tastefully possible on the other hand highlights the racing tech in this car's design and development.
There are so many visual items on every panel I'd avoid stripes and other livery.
I love the idea of the painted shields! Really speaks to the heritage and hand-made nature of this LE special car.
I'll never get one, and my F12 is Titanio...so take my advice for what it's worth! :)

I'd figured that! What I am looking for is just ideas from others as to how they would spec a tdf in the hope I find something there to direct my thoughts which have been from classy greys, to shouty yellow etc.

Given all the 275/GTO clues in the design I would go for one of the "historic" non metalic colours with hand painted shileds.
Its all personal taste of course but I guess i'm more of a leather derby than a carbon/alcantara sneaker kind of guy.

Thanks David and yes, I am off to TM mid Feb as managed to get an appointment a couple of months back and am hoping there will be some colours there that are less well known and might excite me. I thought I had it sorted with a rare colour I found until the factory sent me a sample which, once viewed in full sun, sent me back to the drawing board.

To a degree, I think a scheme for this car is designed from the inside out. Having sat in the car I am convinced the interior should primarily be alcantara due to its sporty feel and ambience and given that loads of beige or cuoio alcantara becomes a bit like sitting inside a teddy bear, albeit I have to say your interior got me thinking(however, an awful lot more alcantara in the TDF)! So I thought I would start with blue, black or charcoal alcantara, with some possibility of dual tone. To me that somewhat rules out the Reds as external colour as I have never really liked the harsh contrast of black and red.

I have a fall back scheme but.......

DK nailed it! Here is our SA which is Bianco Fuji with Bordeaux and the stripe is Rosso Coburn. It really pops while being classy at the same time.

I agree that it's easier to recommend what NOT:

Not Rosso Corsa or Giallo. Actually, the only Ferrari I'd happily have in RC is the F40. And that is already a "check" for you. I really love many colours but always end wanting medium to light greys and blues. Grigio Alloy is my suggestion in a try to stand out a bit.

Not dark interior as I prefer light but this is so personal...

Not black wheels. Not bright coloured calipers. For a classy, London-like finish.

Not stripe though I might consider the transversal one between carbon bridge parts.

That's the problem as that is exactly where I always end up, a grey, and your point about the location is very very apt. Probably why I find it difficult to move away from the greys, or certainly less loud colours.

I tend to agree. Mugello is so much more of a purple-tinged cabernet, at least the examples I've seen.
