Up for sale is my 2002 BMW M Coupe E36/8 with the rare and highly preferred S54B32 engine. I have never posted a classified to sell a car, so rest assured I will try my best to answer any question that I can if left out of this ad. I purchased the car from the second owner who lived in California back in September 2015. I planned to keep this car, but circumstances have changed, and I am now planning to buy a cousins collector car unexpectedly, and keep it in the family. I bought the car with 45,015 miles and the odometer now shows 45,309. The previous two owners kept it in fantastic condition. The car is now in South Carolina and kept in a garage. 315 Horsepower in this North American version made in the Greer South Carolina plant.

It is Titanium Silver exterior with Dark Gray/Black Nappa interior. On my research, the were only 340 M Coupes made in 2002, and I think only 30 had this exterior/interior combination.

The car is completely stock, as best I know, and has A/C, sunroof, BMW Business radio/CD changer with Harmon Kardon package.

The condition is described by me and seen in photos as slight wheel rash on a couple of wheels; leather seats/bolsters, carpets in great condition for 14 years old. Paint is still vibrant, and gaps seem very good. Dash and instruments in very good condition with all of them working and no fading or cracks in Dash. Steering Wheel shows very well. Front Air Dam is clean with no visible curb rash. Front Bumper has some small scratches on right side under headlight lens. There are some screw hole marks from the California license plate (South Carolina doesnt have front plates). There is a small painted repair of a scratch near the gas cap seen in the photo done before my ownership. The engine bay is extremely clean and well cared for.

I had a PPI done on the car prior to my purchase to check for known common problems with this marque: rod bearing on crank shaft and cam shaft bolts, Vanos, seat bushings, and rear differential mount separation. The PPI was performed a specialist referred to me by an FChatter. The PPI came back with extremely high remarks and none of the common mechanical issues needing to be addressed. Noted issues were loose defroster duct, dirty air filter, loose shift knob, some fluids needed attention, and clutch pedal stop was missing. He was a very well trained mechanic with these M Coupes and knew to pull the carpets to check the spot welds for the differential mount inspection.

This car is amazing to own and drive. It has been well cared for its entire life. But as you can see in the photographs, I only have a one car garage.
    Sale Price is $45,000.00

Not sure when, but low mileage S54's in the range of 45,xxx miles down to 12,xxx miles are now being offered between $50k-$80k. My asking price is probably the lowest S54 price in that mileage range in such good condition?

This is actually a fantastic price for a fantastic car. I've had my eye on these for a while, and the seller is correct: an S54 model is almost impossible to find sub-60K. I ended up going the Z4Mc route, as you can get the S54 motor with a similar chassis for much less. Nothing beats the look of the clownshoe though.

Someone should jump on this, it's a great car and a great deal.

Has the rear sub-frame been inspected/repaired?

+1 incredible deal for an amazing car. If you cannot find a buyer here you may want to contact Enthusiast Auto Group in Cincinnati. They specialize in selling used BMW M cars that are in great condition. (513) 554-1269. Good luck.

i was getting ready to jump in to discuss.
kidding aside, great car, it has the same engine as my prior M Roadster, and these engines are simply superb. there will be a fortunate purchaser somewhere.

And they are only going up in value. I had one (s52) from 2005-06 after I graduated law school. Still think about the adventures we had in it. Great cars, awesome driver, cool to look at. GLWS.

I had a feeling these cars would go up in value someday (had one as well) Rare in production and even rarer if found in good well cared for condition.

    GL with the sale.

I think EA has some fantastic cars, at premium prices. But FChatters always say, "buy the best car you can afford". No doubt they seem to have the best cars with highly reputable services performed to make their cars extremely sought after.

I do think they were lucky to find my S54. I would have rather sold it directly to an private individual that would have picked up the car in person and driven it home after a beer and good conversation, but when it comes to clean, low mile, reliable M cars in my future, I look forward to EA for sourcing and consult.
