1998 Lotus Esprit V8 Twin Turbo

Calypso red, tan colored leather. Approximately 31,000 miles, fourth owner, all A & B services completed to date.
Esprit is beautiful both inside and out.

The car has been excellent; with only routine maintenance and upgrades done.

• Replace heater/AC control knobs with knurled alloy

• Install new passenger side window channel seal
• New seal for glass top
• Tinted glass top
• Tinted windows
• K&N Air Filters
• Forge alloy Blow Off Valves
• Install RedRace ECU
• Replace OEM cats with 200 cell sport cats
• Install rear O2 bungs
• Replace muffler with center exhaust
• Install alloy rear valence
• Replace front, rear shocks with Protech adjustables
• Replace front, rear suspension springs with new OEM rated
• Replace rear bushings with poly
• New Michelin PS2, 235 front, 295 rear
• 4 wheel alignment
• Tightened rear bulkhead bolts
• Install Pioneer AVH-P6300BT 7-Inch touch/flip receiver
• Install backup camera in rear license frame
• Install alloy dash plate
• Install alloy pedals
• Renew transaxle fluid with Redline MT90
• Renew coolant
• Replaced all four headlights with Sylvania XtraVision halogens
• Full detail, inside and out to include removing seats and scrubbing carpet and seat detail
• New floor mats, see pictures

•Heinously fast with no mechanical or cosmetic flaws. Never had an impact or repairs. Original paint in immaculate condition, very little bolster wear on drivers seat, no splits in leather anywhere and dash is perfect.

I've always had a thing for these cars. Looks great.

also is this the SE or GT?

 

Car is located in Huntsville, AL and they dropped the SE/GT nomenclature stated-side after the 1994 models. This is simply a 1998 Lotus Esprit V8.

ah I see, thought maybe that was a differentiation point, as most 1997-2001s ive seen have the twin split exhausts not twin center exhaust. is this aftermarket?

 

Yes, it is from the 2003 Final Edition models from JAE and makes the car look so much better. Plus it freed up about 45lbs.

 

Same here. That's a whole bunch of performance for the money and probably one of the better buys in the exotic car world at that price. Wish I wasn't so car-rich and cash-poor. GLWS.

I've owned one of these ... They are very fast and they boost hard creating a sensation of being even faster than they are if that's possible ... And they induce quite a stir on the road as few folks have ever seen one ... If they are sorted and un modded they are a fantastic value IMHO

 

... Also , the tranny is the weakest link in the running gear on these cars ... You gotta kind of ease into it a bit to be safe ... But they're easy to drive and comfortable with all the rear view abilities of a WWll submarine

 

Lotus Esprit is one of the great iconic sport cars ; unfortunately the value is never appreciated .... good luck with sale

I'm 6'5" 220lbs...will I fit? I fit in Ferrari 360 but 355 is tight.

 

ridiculous bang for the buck right there. always amazes me these things aren't worth more.

 

I'm 6'1" and 230lbs and fit with plenty of room, plus I have size 13 shoes. If you fit in a 360 you shouldn't have a problem in an Esprit. Now the Elise/Exige, that is a totally different story.

 

Same here. I have toyed with the idea of keeping it until the collector market catches up but I don't like having garage art.

 

Found the Evora S I want to buy so really need my Esprit to sell.

Car also comes with fitted red indoor cover and I will get more pics taken Sunday once this storm moves out.

 

Price drop to $35,000 for quick sale. You can't get an exotic this well maintained, this condition, for this price anywhere.

 

Someone needs to pick this up. I would be all over it if I didn't buy a 360 recently. GLWS
