Matt, FYI, the clutch in the TR is probably easier to replace than the 911. Not sure what a shop would charge. That may be a different story but I replaced the clutch in my TR in a few hours having never replaced a cluth before. You only have to remove the exhaust to get to it. I had it resurfaced by Clutchmasters in CA for $1,000. I'd rather burn out a clutch in a TR than any of my current cars including my 911! It's the transmission you have to worry about in these cars! And other drivers in my case!!! Totaled it 5 days after my restoration! :-(

Exactly. Someone made a left turn in front of me and I couldn't stop. I had just rebuilt almost the entire car including 30K service, clutch, paint, wiring, bushings, etc., etc., etc. Spent a year doing almost everything myself thanks to FChat. Luckily the insurance company finally agreed on a fair value! Sad to see her go that way though!

Oh no! I'm really sorry to hear about this. It's one thing to have your Testarossa destroyed. .....but after a full nut and bolt restoration?? That just really sucks.
Well, I'm glad you walked away to.....buy another one.

Thanks Shamile. I actually bought a Diablo just before the accident. I'm going to be focusing on that for a while. Sorry to hear about yours!

Although I was not really active on FChat throughout the resto, you and many threads you where involved in were of great help and I thank you for that. It gave me the knowledge and courage I needed to take on such a project. I owe all you guys!

Thanks for the kind words. I've learned so much here so I like to give back in technical threads....with some fun added to them.

You'll love the Diablo. It's so brutal and visceral! You'll find my technical threads on LP

The ad looks real! Still can't understand why people are surprised by someone asking 250-350K USD for such an iconic 12 cylinder car that they only made 1100 hundred of. Can I get an AMEN Big Red ;)

I'm sure most ppl are 99% sure they never made dual high mirrors from the factory - dealer installed maybe but not factory. However I guess u can't say 100% as how do you prove they didn't....

That's the trouble as Testarossa's (and other cars) get more valuable, it only takes one car to get sold to someone who believes a story a seller told them - and suddenly there's a new ultra rare model!

It's a bit like with Countach Lp400S - I don't think the factory ever officially made an S1, S2 and ultra rare S3 - they just made an Lp400S with various changes through the years - but ofc if u can split them up into 3 groups they can be 3 times rarer!

That seller is spouting utter bullfunky.

And anyone who pays anywhere near what that BS'er is asking for his car with 85,0000km ought to have their head examined because they've got way more money than brains.

If so then ever so sorry for doubting it!

I cannot locate any evidence double high came from factory direct.

From what I have read, I don't think the factory ever produced a double high mirrored car. My point about the early cars is they are quite rare and even if someone added a second mirror you could convert it back to the original single mirror. People can ask what they want for their car and speculators can questing the "insanity" but you have a better chance of seeing an F40 drive by at 1300 units produced than you do an early single mirror car. Cheers my fellow single mirror car owners :)
