Very nice with some very rare hard to find spares included. Joe, just out of curiosity, do the luggages have the original owner's name or chassis number on them?

With F40 luggage from Schedoni, there were 3 options: owner's name affixed, chassis number affixed, or blank. This set is the latter.

No problem. I'm sort of pulling a Glickenhaus and posting it in multiple threads because I want as many people who may be interested to see them. They are really fantastic.

    They are, thank you.

The first image shows car number "135", and the second image shows a worker (likely one of the interns drafted from local Polytechnic schools) casually applying silicone sealer around the windscreen!

I want to thank Graham Rahal https://twitter.com/GrahamRahal? for trusting me with the job of facilitating an F40 for him to add to his impressive sports car collection.

Making the deal sweeter was the fact that this was a personal F40 of mine, and, Rahal is a classy gentleman to deal with.

The first driving experience with the car will be his legendary dad, Bobby Rahal, on a road trip to an undisclosed location. All posted speed limits will (obviously) be observed.

I had the honor of meeting Bobby Rahal at the last Rennsport Reunion and he is quite a fellow. Congrats on the F40, Mr. Rahal.

I'm not owner but about F40's engine power seems to be a very suspected argument, still today. I'm enthusiast of engines calculations, anyway.

To me the USA F40 can not have more than 500 hp (like EU non cat cars) unless the F50, its younger sister, has at last more than 550 hp. This has just 513 hp in real world. I will try to explain why.

We all knows that the power is the product of the torque and the RPMs, and the acceleration is the result of the torque by the gearing. The weight must be considered in the calculation.

Anyway, the result of the F50's torque looking at the dyno chart explain that the USA F40 should be 478 hp, or not so much more.

Both C&D test result show frequently the same acceleration peak. An example to all, both 110-120 mph times (one point five seconds!), where the F50 has no more than 335 lb-ft of torque!

That 335 lb-ft must be multiplied by the F50's gearing (*1.36;*3.7) with the result of 1685 lf-ft. That result must be divided by the F40's gearing (*1.23;*2.9;*1.33), both cars has similar weight.

    Result 355 lb-ft.

355 lb-ft @ exactly 7000 RPMs or 115 mph, are 480 HP! So how can be well over 500?

It'd be great if you share your driving impressions once you've gotten to know the car. I have a hard time thinking of anybody better qualified to compare and contrast the F40 to other great cars out there (I seem to remember that you had a Carrera GT and a 599 GTO so they'd be obvious choices).

    Thanks in advance!
