So what's the difference? The auto taxes in CH are definitely cheaper than the neighboring countries so I am curious about how much cheaper it is in the UK.
lets put it this way, i registered the f40 in the uk because the combined savings between licensing, tax, and insurance was more than 50k the first year and 20k the second year. the 456mgt is still in geneva and costs me nearly 5k in licensing, and about that much again in insurance. nearly 10k for a 15 year old car worth about 70k. whereas the 512tr is registered in the uk, is worth at least double if not triple the 456, and costs me 3k. sure, you can find countries where it might be higher. but if you are european, and want to have your car registered in a cheaper country, then pick the uk. it is the cheapest. its no mystery why about 2/3rds of the cars on the mille have uk plates.
Radar laser detectors and blockers are illegal in many EU countries. They even have detector detectors etc...pretty high fine on them too in France/CH/Netherlands etc...
I think in Germany you would pay approx. 450€ road tax (I don't know the emission class) for the 456. For insurance - liability + comprehensive cover - I would have to pay approx. 1600€. Don't ask me what the insurance for an F40 would be. 10000€? Excuse my ignorance, but what is "licensing"?
licensing was the cost of getting the plates at the start, so they add another charge for that of course.

Yearly registration taxes in CH vary hugely by canton (several multiples), even more so than income taxes, so generalizing for the country is meaningless. The computation method are widely different too between power, weight, displacement, CO2 emiessions, etc ... . VS & central Switzerland are among the cheapest, GE & VD among the worst. Denmark has a car sales tax of around 180%. A new Ferrari is of course very expensive. I heard that cars like Ferrari are cheaper before tax in Denmark. So if you live in other european countries, buy it i Denmark and pay taxes in your home country. When it comes to what country has more Ferraris, what if you compare it to per capita or largest percentage of total car fleet?
Yes, the Per Capita statistics is more Interesting. 0 (zero) Ferraris have been sold new here, as all have been bought in US or UK and imported.
Half of those in the U.S. are probably in Southern California. I can't swing a dead cat in my neighborhood without hitting a Ferrari. This is just from this week: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Detector detectors are almost always behind to the most recent radar detector technology. Speeding is also illegal and the fines are also very high. ;-)
i live just down the street from you, it impossible not to see a Ferrari every 10 minutes. they are EVERYWHERE. absolutely no one notices my car-just what i wanted, undercover. i bust out one of my Diablos-game over there's a million pics, people waving, other cars signalling me past so they can get a look. more so than a Aventador
Negative Whilst I have scant information on Monaco, back in 2011 Ferrari did not even list in the Top 20. Yep. From the 405 to La Cienega is chock full of Ferraris. I have been seeing quite a few more Aventadors and Hurricans. Gallardos too. But not too many Diablos.
Track cars only? I know that dome Danish and Swedish owners buy and register (and keep) cars in Germany.
Said that a couple of pages ago; cars registered (and thus receiving plates) isn't the same as actual cars sold by dealers. Some cars do not get registered at all (track/collecter cars) others are registered in (mostly neighbouring) country's to avoid local taxes.
Nope. The cars stay in Denmark, and gets "leased" back to the owners by leasing Companies. After the leasing period ends, they buy the car back from the leasing Company and then the cycle starts over NeXT summer when its time to take the cars out Again. They never get a permanent plate. It changes every year, for the same car. We have around 862 Ferrari's in Denmark.
These Aventadors you are talking about, mostly seem to be driven by very young Asians with neon sneakers......
