    I have a 1984 BBi. I'm the third owner of the car and have a question. When I acquired the car, it had a "bumpy" texture at the bottom of the front chin and this texture continued down the side along the bottom of the body. It's about 2" wide and is the same color of the body.

    It has always appeared to be original and not an after thought. Does anyone know if Boxers imported into different countries were required to have this texture?

    Just curious...

    my '90 TR had an OEM textured finish on the chin spoiler.
    FoS repainted it with a plain satin finish - I was pissed.

    Chin spoilers on TR's never had a textured finish. Spoiler, rocker panels, air splitters in side air intakes and the fiberglass piece for the license mount on the rear bumper were all the same smooth flat black.
