You would Imagine every driver was knocking on red bulls door in 2011-2013 for a job, alonso did, and I do remember brundle talking about Hamilton being seen there several times, so I'm not surprised he wanted a job. Whether Horner actually had anything to do with Mercedes signing him is another matter, but the basis is likely correct

Most of the mclaren team finding Elton a nauseating person was likely also a reason why he wanted to move on

Been said plenty of times by paddock insiders and even on TV a few times that Mclaren employees where 'uneasy' with Hamilton in his latter years (I think it started around the time when Button came, and he was quicker than expected).

 

I understood it was Ross Brawn over a cup of tea sat at Lewis' mum's kitchen table. Seriously.

 

There's a bit of difference between being 'uneasy' with Hamilton and 'finding him a nauseating person'.

Alternately, button in his mclaren stint has had very few negative vibes said about him, he's no star, but he is a likeable, sociable fellow who knows how to motivate people, the same cannot be said for Elton
