No, they both haven't. They have even the spare belts still sealed, the spark plugs still sealed, the green and black spare lamp box: everything perfect, but no battery strap at all. You don't need it. They both have the jack (the lifter and the lever-ratchet) in black and not in yellow. ciao
Thank you, Alberto, similar to mine. EDIT But ... as Martin says ... ... I will not sell it. Who knows, what to use for
Depends on the battery. Have you ever tried to release a battery, which has no handle or strap on itself, from the battery compartment? I want to say; Never purchase a battery without a handle or strap for the 308 GTB/GTS. Best Regards Martin
I had to go buy the Lifting Tool, for the battery. It looks similar to the tongs used for block ice. I looked all over the store, then they admitted they had it, back by the battery tester machine! Luckily, it had a bar code so they sold it to me. Pulling the battery will rip skin from your hands! The Old School way would be to snake a rope beneath it, and tie a sling, to pull vertically....
I found some MERCEDES BENZ wrenches!!! They are very fine, made in Germany. I wonder if they are worth as much as the Ferrari ones??? The also have two different manufacturers, among the four wrenches I have....
Do you know, who the manufacturers of the MB-wrenches are? But they probably aren't worth as much as the Ferrari tools. The most valuable Indian product up till today are Everest wrenches, if they were delivered together with a Ferrari. Best Regards Martin
I took some pictures I was going to interject them in here, still in my phone.. The jaws are shouldered, stronger, it just better design!!
Thanks! Interesting. This is one of the german premium tool manufacturers. Brothers Dowidat were the founders of GEDORE. GEDORE - Timeline I wish Ferrari would have had a comparable supplier for their tools. Like for instance italian BETA. What would have style and grace. BTW: I love my BETA tools for serious work on the 308. It's somehow as if they were tailor-made for my hands and for the space situation of Ferraris. Unfortunately hard to obtain in Germany. Had to purchase them in nearby Switzerland. But those Everest wrenches are unworthy for a Ferrari. And that's not only because I hate India. Best Regards Martin
I just listed these 4 wrenches on EBay. They came with my Mercedes 450 SL back in the 70's. I forgot I even had them; as they are new, and guess that I just pulled them from the car and forgot about them. Interesting that they are also from two different mfgr's. Matador and Heyco both German company's. They certainly will not command the prices of Ferrari wrenches as they seem to be of quite poor quality. Regards, WilliamR Image Unavailable, Please Login
Okay just checked mine in detail. I've got a few but there are variation to a certain degree. But more or less similar to what I had posted before. Colour: The insets I got are all orange. I've seen black/dark gray ones before, or none possibly lost somewhere. Image Unavailable, Please Login Material: It's more of natural rubber to me more than neoprene or foam. This is for the orange type only. Image Unavailable, Please Login Size: Inner diameter is about 11.5mm, thickness about 2.5mm, tube height is roughly 9mm. You can see the measurement is just roughly as there are variations as its likely cut off from a long tube with a pair of scissors liberally. I took measurement from the best one I got instead of the more worn ones. Image Unavailable, Please Login Attachment: No catchment noted, so it's just friction and some adhesive it seems. See the glue residue in the picture of one with the inset took out. Image Unavailable, Please Login Socket design: Like I said before there are three steps in the crown, outer hex one is obvious but you see differences too. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login the middle one with 14mm diameter is where the inset sits and the inner one with about 12mm diameter to stop the inset moving further into the crown piece hole. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login The spark plug and the wrench goes together like these photos. My gf's house is now totally surrounded, by ISKCON...it's ok if you like people in pyjamas and drums walking your streets...
I did ask Alberto but received 0 on that request, unfortunaly he dont have the numbers. I'll make 1 to see if all fits at the right places. Some errors in mm are allowed because its just for myself. There are 2 diffirent numbers in length...I have messured by comparising the sizes of the spanners with the total length of the bag. Numbers are in millimeter ! Enzo52 Image Unavailable, Please Login
You are right about the wrong tool bag for my car. Stekkefun2 has the right toolbag and offers to help also with the right numbers.
Everest tools are related to DOWIDAT WERKE WILLI DOWIDAT, wich is the Gedore Werkzeugfabrik in Germany foundet at 1919...by the brothers Dowidat. 1919 Gründung der GEDORE Werkzeugfabrik am »Erdelen« in Remscheid durch die Gebrüder Dowidat. So, the spanners still can be ordered if intrested. Guido
http://www.gedore-group.com/en/group/chronicle.html I already posted the link to Gedore regarding Dowidat Tools. But! Everest tools are Made in India and have absolutely nothing to do with Gedore. How did you hit on that, that Everest has anything to do with german tools? But you are correct. They're still i business producing crap: http://www.everesttools.com Best Regards Martin
Just to be clear. I'm no racist! And I'm currently making great business with a chinese industrial company. But Indians stole two patents from me and because of this I have to meet a bunch of responsible US dumbasses at court this year. But in the end it were the Indians who sold my ideas without asking me. Let alone paying me one single buck. Best Regards from Germany Martin
I just sent my bag to a shop and they copied it: I never took any measure. What I know is that is not easy to take the measures, as they did a good work just on the third attempt, while on the first two attempts the bag didn't come out as it should be. Ciao
the shop that reproduces the tool roll bag (both 308 and 328 models) and the jack bag is the same that reproduces the Zegna fabric: http://www.interniautomaieli.com/ENG/tappezzeria_maieli.php You can contact them at: [email protected] They understand and write in English. The bag cost is 180 euro + 22% IVA (each one, price is the same for the tool roll bag and the jack bag). You have to add shipping, of course. They are an excellent repro, exactly the same as the old one, but new. ciao
