I've been working on a CG Countach, LP400 specifically, for some time. I'm fairly well convinced I have the proper wheelbase on which to base the car and I've used some high resolution photos that are near enough to isometric in order to verify this. I have to thank Joe for posting earlier a scan of an LP400 proposal (for US approval, I believe) that gave the correct wheelbase for the car. For the life of me I can't understand why Lamborghini has given the most arbitrary dimensional data for the car and it's been made canon by print media ever since.

I am wondering if any of you Countach owners wouldn't mind measuring a couple things on your cars for me? These would be identical across any chassis and I can't find them and photos are too hard to work with for these. Anyhow, here's a few shots of my progress on the exterior of the car to show where I'm going with this.

Perhaps, Joe, you could be so kind as to post a higher res version of the scans from the Marmiroli folder? Or PM me? That appears to have some great stuff but the dimesions are too hard to read. I'd be grateful. :)

Bear in mind these are roughs only until I flesh out what I need. The rims are finals (sans lug nuts right now).

    Anybody, anybody? :D

OK. Based on your sketch I will see what I can do tomorrow unless the USA folk help first due to time zone.

    Imperial or metric? S

The Marmirolli scans are for the Downdraft, dimensions should be readable

Metric would be best as that's what I use. Thanks!

Hey Joe, do you have a slightly tighter version of the scan with the light placement dimensions? That was really cool!

sychros... thats a great looking model. very nice! off course peeps wont respond to it at this point cuz the "bling" shaders aren't in yet. like monkeys, people gravitate towards the shinniest object for all the wrong reasons.

that’s a great looking model. Capture the profile, very nicely proportioned along well developed subtle surfacing and sections.

of course peeps wont respond well to it at this point cuz the "bling" shaders aren't in yet. like monkeys, people gravitate towards the shiniest object for all the wrong reasons… :)

Thanks! My first task is definitely the "shape" and "feel". I'll have a base then as well to create the S2 and S3 cars. My ultimate goal is a 3d print. :).

I don't know if any of this stuff helps you at all

Joe, that's fantastic! Can you do a closer version on that front and back view with the light placements? Those are great!

By the way, that US certification application is the scan you posted before I mentioned. I'm dead sure that's the true wheelbase of all cars, save for the LP500 proto.

Well you can be dead sure because it comes from the factory themselves in 1975 when the car was in production!

What kind of program are you using? I am a car designer and we use Alais program for our 3D models. When you finish the model, send me a copy and I can put it into the Alais and do Bunkspeed renderings for you.
