Porsche 911 from 1964, Chassic number 300 138. Car is in Germany.

More Infos about the car: https://www.classicdriver.com/de/car/porsche/911/1964/356858

Extremely rare matching numbers early Porsche 911. Original German delivery "Vorführwagen" Schultz Düsseldorf. This chassis number 300138 is from the very early production group of 911 cars (only 232 produced) that were made in 1964. The matching number Motor with correct Solex carburatores remains in the car and has had a comprehensive breakdown with the case being split and overhauled with the parts documented.

This is a very proper and correct, original example with long term ownership in California. Subsequent its European delivery. Porsche Kardex accompanies the car showing the original red color and 6 pleat Pepita seats. Lots of original design changes occur over the first of production that are visible on this example. A significant collector quality example for any Porsche collector.

At $713,000 this must be a new crazy high for one of these early cars! I'm not knocking the car, but wow!

ya, for 1964, people pay for the year!
like 1975 turbo 930 worth the most.
that's the Porsche way I guess.

This is not a normal aircooled Porsche!
Thus is the beginning of all 911s...

The super early cars started with 901 as the vin as the car was to be called a 901 instead of a 911. Peugeot sued Porsche for the 01 designation, and hence they had to change it

There is no separate VIN for 901's. From the beginning of production, all 901's/911's had a chassis VIN number beginning with 300XXX. The 901 was the model designation applied to prototype cars before production began, and cars built on the production line from September 14th to November 10th 1964. The total number of "901"'s built were 82. Only about 30 or so now are accounted for..... This car is one of the last ones built in 1964 and is officially a 911 not a 901. It's a nice car though....
