they have a cheaper ferrari - it's called the cali.

the FF is ugly, nowhere near beautiful. the reason they make an ugly car with awd is so they can sell more cars.

Brian you bought a used car. you shld apologize for your juvenile tone and remarks.

I bought and still own one of the first FFs delivered in the northeast, it has 22k miles today. Feel free to go search my username and you will see how I feel about the FF. Its an amazing car, its functional, and in my eyes its far from beautiful. 6 months after I got my car Ferrari came out and lowered the price. my statements are crystal clear. The MSRP of an FF is probably too high. paying an equivalent MSRP for an f12 makes sense when you see how much better the f12 holds its value versus the FF. Ferrari has gone public and is making cars they wldnt have made 20 years ago - they want/need to sell more cars - that's a fact. For what it is, I think a loaded FF shld cost just under 300k, not just under 400k.

If you wld like to challenge, debate, or criticize any piece of that thought process, go ahead. I did not buy my FF used or with any discounts. I paid full price, I drive it every
day, and if Ferrari comes out with a reasonable MSRP then ill add a new FF to my stable.

my comments as well as Jaz's were very reasonable and relevant.

and in response to the question brian proposed "am I smarter than Ferrari"
I'm definitely no dumber. You know how a manufacturer admits they priced a car incorrectly/too high? very simple, they lower the price and still cant sell the cars and therefor they have to offer insane lease deals to actually move the cars. that's how. all true with our beloved FF.

and fwiw deprecation here in the US has not been 45%, it has been much closer to 60% and worse if you are trading in. 385k to 140k.

I continue to love every mile of the FF.

brian what did u pay for ur car and what was the sticker? I bet your response all supports my statement that Ferrari priced the FF too high

TT, what color is your FF. My first FF was a metallic gray Silverstone, the current FF is Nurburgring Silver much lighter and much prettier. The gray car hid all of the vents and curves on the rear of the car. Many friends asked what model the new FF was as the rear was much prettier (but identical :)).

its pozzi - I love the color - it flies below the radar which I really enjoy. I'm a big FF fan. I have a dozen of these things and I drive the FF the most. I'm not a hater. I'm just calling a spade a spade from the way I look at the world.

yes jasone it is my opinion and nothing more. from the front and back it looks great. from the side I still don't love it. the awd has met my expectations. using the back seats is more cumbersome than I thought. I actually keep my kids in the front with the booster because getting them in the back is such a pain. in comfort I can have a BT conversation flawlessly. in sport the car screams. I have a full Novi. the cat has plenty of positives and im just balanced about what I think are negatives after owning it for 4 years. last time I checked that was the point of a board like this.

The US must be a unique market place for the FF as in the UK and the Far East plus much of Europe the FF is holding up very well. Typical cost new in 2011 was circa 275k plus and the cheapest one here is currently 149k in not the best colour combo and 20k plus miles. Some 2015 used versions are discounted to between 215 and 245k£ as the facelift gets nearer but consensus is the price will stabilise as the earliest anyone will get a new one is Sept 16 and with a fully specced price point of 280-290k£ going to well over 300k min plus the allocation is controlled. I have always believed Ferrari price their cars up to what the market will stand and maybe they got it wrong in the US.

Plus in the US estate cars, station wagons and hatch backs have been seen as shopping cars or farmers utility cars whereas in Europe they are seen as quite cool with BMW, Mercs and Audi selling high numbers of their lairy V8 and V10 estates plus 4x4s are the top selling concept so it was no wonder Ferrari offered what I see as the best Grand Tourer in the world .....bar none.

Ugly?.....no not at all. From the doors forward it is virtually the same as the F12. The back half is iconic and clearly divides opinion. I love it and think it will be a future classic ......?

ttforcefed is one of the most fair people I know.

Brian, the official reason they made the FF is because clients asked for a Ferrari they could use year round- especially European clients- and was more practical.

My own take is when asked why they didn't go for the 612 model, clients would not say because its not as sexy as the 2 seater, and they didnt want a car that depreciates like a brick- at least in a relative sense. Ferrari got more politically acceptable reasons: the back seats are too small, I can't use it year round, the bluetooth isn't that good... so taking that as inputs, the output is the FF. And Ferrari saw the popularity of SUVs for Porsche. But they could never do a SUV. That wouldn't fit with the brand. But they have been doing 4 seaters for years.

I think it was not a bad risk for them to take. And the car has found a very loyal following. I'm not sure how large the following is, but those who love it, they do love it. So clearly it accomplished its mission for some people. I'm not sure if it hit its sales targets or not.

The car never really appealed to me but thats just one person. These cars are all emotional so you won't ever get everyone- if they tried to do that- they'd wind up with a bland car. And I think we can all agree, no Ferrari should ever be bland!

Well then I guess you are one of very few who simply don't like the car you own. And yes you are entitled to your own opinion, just be prepared to accept others opinion.

The market here in northern europe is Not the same as in US, very far from. After 5 years you might be around 65%. Import fom EU you say? Right... it mat work but it will be very hard to sell at a later stage...

There are no golden rule that works everywhere so just do not assume you know it all. Someone else may (or may not) know more...

sure is. My 100lb Shepherd fits in the back fine, which was my main requirement. The car is an absolute beast.. screams like mad is safe for my wife in the rain but I can swing the backend out like a RWD anytime I want. I can't believe the incredible engineering in this car. It's simply a miracle and in my opinion the best car that has ever been put in to production. I like the looks from any angle.

maybe something is being lost in translation or I'm not articulate enough - pls find where I send I don't like the FF. I said to me its ugly from the side and I don't consider it a beautiful car. I also said that more normal depreciation like 35 to 40% wld be nice, rather than the 65%. I had nothing but praise for everything else.

V12 GT 4WD A friend of mine was at the factory yesterday says the car is very sporting more like a F12 with four seats, New body, new interior.

I'm looking forward to seeing it at Como!!!! should be interesting lets hope the infotainment system is new and works better than my FF

I'm sorry to see that some people here use this site to boost their ego and find ways to make others less important and marginalized other opinions...

Who cares if some one buys a car new or used..

I personally think FF is ugly from the side profile, but I like the back, but who cares...

This forum should be a place where civilized people share information , experience and opinions about the brand.

And by the way I think ttforcefed is a gentleman, and my words are not for him.
