some sellers are not too keen if you open the car's door and other then cars for the American and the Middle East market, the Telaio on the others does not contain the month of production. If one ever followed my Books or its virtual companion, F-Register, he might know that only a full and complete record is a good record. This includes the production date as well
And some sellers, and a lot of them in Europe, are not even keen to give you the VIN or the chassis number. How many requests have remained unanswered... Rgds
Plus the fact that August in those years was usually a month of very low production at the factory; Italy was almost completly closed for holydays at the time. It still "marked" today, but not as much as it was during the seventies/eighties. Rgds
This is 73953. One of the few US 328 GTB that reside in Europe. It's listed as a Sept 87 build on the registry. I don't have a picture of the build plate but I am pretty confident of that date. The car that preceded it is: 73369 Giallo/Beige Jul 87 Woodland Hills Ferrari I don't believe any US 328 GTB were built in August. -F

A small update. 66801, the first US 328 GTB of the 1987 model year, where are you? Also, 64291 RC/Beige is owned by Fastcars575, a member here but he hasn't been around lately. He lives in Austin. I am trying to find the build date for his car. If anyone from Austin knows of him can you direct him to this thread? Lastly, can someone confirm 77994 Nero/Nero is a US car? In my point of view 66801 is a GTS with VIN ZFFXA20A3H0066801 and Michigan 2015 title. Have you another information ?
No, I don't have any other information so I will update my records and post an updated list at a later time. Given that, the car I own, 67033 appears to be the first 328 GTB imported into the US for the 1987 model year. If you have any other information on any of these cars please post it up. I did confirm with the owner that 82669 is Giallo/Nero and has delivery miles only so my guess was correct.
70249 is Rosso Corsa with Beige interior. Sold new by Ferrari of Sacramento on May 1987. Today offered for sale in Netherlands still with Californian registration !
My buddy, Pedro, has an early 1988 GTB in metallic black and light tan interior. According to Monterey Ferrari, it was one of 2 brought into the country as of May, '88. Because of his military obligation in late 2001, he stopped driving it...it hasn't seen the light of day since then...talk about a real "barn car!" I doubt if he even remembers the serial number but I will post it if he can find it.
I may have to other black (nero) metallic/tan interior GTB. I have wondered how many black metallic GTB's were brought to the US. I knew there couldn't have been many. Mine is 61177 and an '86 and already on the registry.

Thanks for the information. I have updated my records and will post an updated registry in the near future. If you have any other information feel free to post it up. I know of two Nero cars from the 1988 MY, 77068 (Sherpa's old car, I don't think it was met. black, was it?) and 77994, on which I have no further information. Because of that, I suspect it has been hidden for some time. If you can dig up a serial number, build date (found on the plaque in the door jam) and/or the original dealer, that would be greatly appreciated. -F
That is 82332. The young man in the passenger seat is the owner. The guy driving is a family friend driving the car to the Danville de Elegance in Danville CA..
