A few more details of what's coming on the new FF.

Larger infotainment screen and redesigned dash
    New seat style
Rear now has small roof spoiler over back window
    Rear quarter more aggressive haunches
    Three vents in front wing
F12 style front with revised headlights and bonnet scoop.

Apparently it looks very very nice.

Yeah. Thank god we don't have this crap here in Dubai as well. This whole buy this car to get an allocation for another sounds ridiculous to me. Like you said ... Walk into the dealer ... Pick what you like ... Stack of money ... Drive away happy.

Just when I was sure that I was getting an F12 next year ... They do this and make me dream of a 2017 FF :)

If anyone could just walk in an buy a new Ferrari in the US, Ferrari would have to make another 10,000 cars / year.

    Sounds great.

I just hope it lacks the TDFs near Corvette quality.

Yes and no. If they did that, they would sell out the first 1-2 years production but then there would be too low demand after that. Ferrari manages demand pretty intelligently.

The details on the new FF sound very encouraging!

I have to say I was surprised that no one had mention FWS as I understood this was not just a tdf specific bonus and would be rolled out on other models and the FF seems like an obvious start.

If I had expressed interest long time ago and put down a deposit when they were taking orders I could have yeah. The issue in Dubai is that's it's a free for all and there are A LOT of willing customers concentrated in a very small area. The TDF allocation for Dubai was only a few cars and all those got sold in a couple of days. All a sales person has to do is start calling some of his good clients and the cars get snapped up in a heartbeat. The only people who have really high priority are royal family members (quite a few of them around) ...

In cases like the LaFerrari the factory actually steps in and suggests which customers must have the right of first refusal. But again ... They get a call first and if they are not interested the dealer moves down the list.

Not really because if I want an F12 or a Speciale or even the TDF the dealer will never tell me that I need to buy an FF or a 488 in order to qualify ...

If I express interest and pay a deposit ahead of time then I can get the car. If the dealer has some cars they need to sell then they obviously call their clients first. That's standard practice in any car dealership not just Ferrari.

The "buy an FF in order to qualify to buy something else later" practice is not something they do here.

Yes, it apparently is by your own statements...they just don't come out and "tell" you that.

The "first right of refusal" for the better loyal customers is exactly that.
You cannot "express an interest" in a 458 SpecialeA (or tdf), give a deposit, and walk away with a new one 6 months later unless you are already well known, and liked, by your Dealer. Whatever criteria they may use to put you in that criteria is beside the point...the point is, quite rightly, better customers get first right of refusal.
I have no problem with the system as it stands in the USA.

I'd have a real problem being a loyal enthusiast here, spending time at functions, and events, and Dealer-run trips, as well as buying cars (etc.) to then have them get an allocation for a special car and some guy named "vaderinc" in another part of the World calls up my Dealer and gets the allocation instead of me...then that would be a screwed up business model for sure.

Very annoying. Just received my invite to Cernobbio on the 15th and cannot make it. I think, from all that I am hearing, this could be a very exciting and major improvement and hopefully get rid of a lot of the aesthetic criticism.

Or, it's the beginning of the end for a company that is now traded on the exchange, and trying too hard to be a people pleaser. The TDF is almost looking a corvette. Let's hope the FF is not trying too hard.

If they want to go over 10000 cars TT8s will have to happen.

Not feeling optimistic about Ferrari, have to be honest. Hope to be wrong.

I think by now we get the point that you feel the tdf looks like a Corvette. Not sure why you see this similarity aside from them both being front engined two seat sports cars, but I surely know which one I want in my garage and which I really don't.

To my eye, possibly the most exciting looking Ferrari since the 275.

It's great you're excited, I'm sure it's a blast to drive. Get one if you can.

Yet Ferrari is not Lambo ... meaning Fcars are tasteful and confident, not brash and trying to be macho or flashy. Even the LaF manages to be a Ferrari in it's bold lines. The TDF has a plastic quality, lots of things happening visually ... exciting maybe to some, LOOK AT ME I'M FAST to others! Very close to trying too hard. YET ... to be fair ... it's meant to be a muscle car, so I can understand the look.

I'm simply hoping it's not the entire new direction for all cars post Pinanfarina. This is what I'm looking to see with the coming FF update. Is Ferrari going to TRY to look cool, or BE COOL. Do they keep integrity or become a corporate mindset of SALES and over think customer feedback.

Not hating, just hopeful. I'm loyal to the brand as it has been, not shorting the stock or anything like that :)

Thanks for the explanation and now I better understand your concerns. I doubt you should worry as the problem, as explained to me by the man in charge of the tdf design was that unlike the 599 which started as a soft looking car and so was easy to turn into an aggressive one with the GTO, with the F12, they started with what was already a very aggressive design and hence had no other route and thus the design direction. I very much doubt the FF will follow this route but I also very much doubt we will see the pure elegance of Pinin again.
