Joe, 12157 is my car. I purchased it from Holland. Still have the Dutch papers with the TF number plate on. This is an early picture as wing mirrors are black. Now body coloured and have been since I've owned her

    Fantastic.

Traum Autoarchiv has some great images of HLA12157 whilst still Dutch-registered, perhaps you have seen these before?

HLA12063 was delivered through Belgian distributor and appaered in a road test / comparison in "De Auto Gids".

As you can see the car was equipped with a rear wing during the test.

Are you sure this is HLA12620 ? I saw the car at Maastricht exhibition in 2011 and noted the number as HLA12060.

I've seen these pictures. But, interested to know the web site address for the Dutch Registry, so that I may have a nose.

    Cheers

Great pictures, and very informative, did your car have the mandantory hairline cracks in the rear corner of the air scoop openings?,( on the rear fenders)I noticed Harry pointed this out on his car in his walkaround video. Love your post keep the pictures coming, also cool to see craftsmen in modest facilities in the US getting this Old Italian rolling art back in shape,

I have seen these hairline cracks on many (but not all) Countachs, so I looked, but for some unknown reason, this car did not have them pre-restoration.

The Silhouette and LP400 shared a colour chart. The correct Rosso Siviglia for those years was without doubt 2.464.022. Some Silhouettes appear to have been repainted in a different Rosso Siviglia and this may be that of the later code.

This begs the question for the Countach, when did PPG 2.464.022 stop, and PPG 215157 start ?

Or the obvious follow-up question for the Countach, were the two ever used simultaneously at the works at Sant Agata ?

I believe the new painting facility at the factory was completed in Sept'85. I speculate that this might have had something to do with the change...maybe the introduction of a different process?

Interesting, sounds like the Rosso Corsa Ferrari, we have painted several boats the last 25 years in this color, must be 20 different shades,

Possible these cracks originated in the original primer, being your car have one repaint, could have been fixed in that process. Cant wait to see it done in the merlot/ burgundy beautiful color.

Don't know, but this car was looked after very well for 30 years in Switzerland, and I thank Raymond for the last 15.

    Agreed.

IMO QVs were painted at least two different reds, and I think the old PPG 2.464.022 and the newer PPG 215157 were both at play simultaneously at one period.
